Sunday, October 12, 2008. An afternoon at Timberline Lodge. Yesterday was a special treat.Jim and I went up to Timberline Lodge. On Mt Hood. It was a gorgeous Fall day, about 50 degrees in the valley, 39 up the mountain. We had some early storms this October so there was actually fluffy snow on the ground and lots of people visiting the Lodge that day. It was very cool to bundle up and crunch our way around the property. 160;Which we haven't done yet, but I hope to soon. Tuesday, September 16, 2008.

Angel probably easily doubles it's population during Oktoberfest, but everyone is good-natured and not at all drunk! 160;The festival only sells alcohol in the Biergarten, which is in a separate area that you must be over 21 to enter. Saturday, August 16, 2008. Downtown PDX @ 17th and NW Flanders. This has quickly become one of our 'must see' stops when family and friends come to visit. If we only have time for 3 things, it's Multnomah Falls/Columbia Gorge, Forest Park, and St. Cupcake. An added bonus is that they have delightful vegan cupcakes for Jim. Thursday, August 28, 2008. As summer winds down. Walking through my garden late this afternoon, it was easy to see Fall creeping in. The leaves on this 'creme brulee' heuchera, while never completely green, offered a hint of the changes to come. Outside the shadows are longer, the light a bit softer.
