We then browsed around Spencer Plaza and dropped into Landmarks and Music India for some music CDs. We then chanced on a reasonably ok ethnic Jewelery store -Uttarika. The entire city was shrouded in a haze that seemed to blur the rough edges and also the glare of the sun. What was once known as the "pensioner's paradise" had. Metamorphsized into this pulsing, high strung city with clogged roads and incredible noise levels. Just leaving the airport, I lost hope of ever finding any part of Bangalore left unchanged. It took about 3 weeks total and the hardest thing to live with was the dust and the cardboard covering protecting the floors. The best thing, other than my semi-new kitchen, was the total professionalism and quality job done by the company and the subcontractors. I think the result speaks for itself.
