这段马来语 "Cina Balu"若翻译成华语代表 华裔寡妇。 公园的总面积是754 平方公里 291平方英里 ,有四个气候带，而且有世界上最丰富多种类的动植物。 从丁波汉闸门开始时反而是要下山坡到一座 瀑布 Carson’s Fall ,以京那巴鲁公园的第一名看守员的名字取名的。 沿着丁波汉栈道有几个木崩小屋 Pondok ，第一个是位于海拔1981.7米的Kandis小屋。 第二个木崩小屋是位于海拔2081.4米的Ubah小屋 这个地带滋长着很多Nepenthes lowii，也是婆罗洲最稀有的猪笼草类，所以注意看外型奇异而且有袋子的植物。 继续跟着栈道在一片绿色的森林步行，您将会经过沙巴电信站，位于 Komborongoh (海拔2252.2 米)。 过后您会经过拉央拉央 Layang-layang 电视台站，后抵达拉央拉央的露脊地 曾被称为Carson’s露营处。 拉央拉央 燕子地带 也是丁波汉栈道和马西劳栈道链接的地方 海拔2740米。 经过第五个木崩小屋- Villosa小屋 海拔 2690米 后，树木渐渐开始稀少，道路也变成光秃秃的石头路，沿路也能够看见弯曲的剥树皮的银灰色树干。
