The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/03/whitewashing-1970s.html
Friday, March 02, 2007. You see, I was left with brown cabinets upon the sale of the house to me 14 years ago. In that time, I have always envisioned them to be white. clear, clean, crisp white. Something that brought them out of the 1970's and into the new millenium. The picture with this post is not my kitchen, but imagine my surprise when I found it on the web. It's almost the spitting image of mine. dark, cavelike. And how did it all fit in those small cupboards? Right down the street, huh? Being a n...

The Secret Garden: April 2006
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 28, 2006. Just a dream away. Instead, I'll be assaulting my legs and feet once more with another wedding to cater. Oh well, it pays the bills, right? I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and gets to enjoy their moments away from the drudgery of the working world. Even if I can't be there, I'll be dreaming about it in my few moments of downtime. Posted by Ellen at 11:15 PM. Thursday, April 27, 2006. He thought as he flew down I-95, pushing the pedal to the metal even more. Have a good da...

The Secret Garden: January 2006
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 29, 2006. Setting a good example. We were told that nobody liked brats, so we did our best not to be labeled as such, and we were fortunate for that foundation that my parents found so important in our upbringing. A question conspirators could write books about with our present administration. What's to say they couldn't interpret the law to fit their own benefits. I think that idea scares me more. Posted by Ellen at 5:50 PM. Saturday, January 28, 2006. Happy birthday, Eric! I'm writing y...

The Secret Garden: May 2006
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 31, 2006. The threshold of life. Experience along the way altered many of the answers of my youth; I can see clearer and wider than the confines of my own mind, and self-education is key to surviving the path of life. As the graduates of the Class of 2006 enter yet another rite of passage, I wish them well, and leave them with a few lessons I've learned while walking down the yellow brick road:. Being at the threshold is the opportunity we middle-agers wish we could recapture. with all...

The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/04/its-official.html
Friday, April 13, 2007. I need one of these. but not for lights. Since I am blind to reading any print within a 1 mile radius of my eyes, my glasses need to be in reach 1000 times a day. I can read the letter shirt off a cheerleading flea 5 miles down the road, but without my glasses to read simple print inches from my face, I am lost. Yes, one of these babies would save me hours of looking for necessary items. Posted by Ellen at 2:55 PM. Peace and Hugs,. I'm at the point where I'm so used to needing the...

The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/04/my-bad.html
Friday, April 06, 2007. For all the wonderful people that have stopped over in the past month, I hang my head in shame for not reciprocating to your comments on my last post. You have all been true friends for sending e-mails or calling to see if I were still alive. and I am here to report that dire news of my demise is greatly exaggerated . The truth is, I was abducted by the HGTV. Muses of home improvement. Since my original project was to JUST DO THE KITCHEN, I had a little attack of OCDitis. Are true...

The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/04/all-dressed-up.html
Sunday, April 08, 2007. The season never changed from year to year, only the size of the clothes, as Easter was a signal that you would get a new outfit to wear. officially packing away the heavy winter gear of boots and heavy coats. It was my favorite time, as I was dressed to kill in my new dress, bonnet, shoes and gloves. For a fashionista. Like me, Easter meant new wardrobe. But that was then, and this is now. Peeps but how can one not when every store you walk into has them bursting in the aisles?

The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/08/ever-have-one-of-those-days.html
Monday, August 13, 2007. Ever have one of those days. When nothing, and I mean NOTHING goes right? Of course you have, haven't we all? Today is that day for me. No matter what I did (and I had plenty of time with spare left over) to catch up all my errands, chores, duties, and other miscellaneous. Garbage I line up for myself. This was going to be a day of great accomplishments! Well, being a government office I suppose they have that right. but still? Shut down and rebooted a million times, called Geek ...

The Secret Garden: March 2006
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 31, 2006. It's that time of year again. when the days get longer, and the mornings darker. Don't forget to *spring forward* your clocks Sunday night. Oh. and have a great weekend! Posted by Ellen at 5:41 PM. Thursday, March 30, 2006. God beams, and my little piece of heaven. When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion. Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind. Sir Richard Francis Burton. Say nothing of my religion. It is kno...

The Secret Garden
http://thesecretgarden13.blogspot.com/2007/04/beginners-recipe.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2007. So here He is. at the beginning of life as we know it, and for some reason, the spice of life ends up being a canister of Jerks. No, not jerk seasoning. just plain jerks. And the world is full of them, is it not? Were we evolved as a species through natural selection, divine intervention, or just sheer luck? Who knows for certain. but we're here, and our time has been recorded through the efforts of wordsmiths and theologans, thus creating the "age of reason" for our species&...
