We appreciated what the Koreans have had to endure throughout so many centuries. So many wars and being occupied by other people, mostly the Japanese. Wednesday, June 24, 2009. On a whim, we decided to go on an overnight trip to Yellowstone. The weather was great and we even got a nice cabin at our favorite spot, Canyon Village. On the back of this monument honoring the Mormon pioneers who first entered the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, are the names of those first pioneers. Including my great-great-grandfather, Charles Shumway, and his son Andrew. This monument was unveiled on July 24,1897. At that time both Charles and Andrew were living. Saturday, July 19, 2014. Cora Mae, born June 18, 2014; 8lbs 9oz. Born to my daughter Lea and her husband Jeff. Their third child and third girl. She is a miracle as Lea and Jeff haven't been able to get pregnant for several years. The doctor told Lea she was very lucky that she was able to get pregnant before.
