As a result, they have interesting layouts and features, are pretty and individual buildings and have a large number of stories to go with them. Originally a 17th-century coaching house, the partially thatched building is now a welcoming real-ale-enthusiast’s dream. The pub also serves real cider and bar snacks. There are three large TVs for sports fans, as well as a pool table and a darts board. The locals are friendly and chatty and the atmosphere is very laid back. The Globe was certainly involved in this trade as the ‘Globe’ was the sign of the Portuguese Wine Traders (which is why many coastal towns on the south coast have a Globe Inn or Hotel).
