Adventures of a Book Worm. She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain. -Louisa May Alcott. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. What were YA thinkin? Authorthoughts: antony john & elemental. This entry was posted on 11/20/2012, in authorthoughts. It’s not often that I photograph books here on the blog, but when I do, I feel like I’m giving each book its own little fashion show. This immediately reminds me of Mindy Kaling’s character on The Office being super annoying when she chants, “Fashion show at lunch! Today I’m rolling out the red carpet for Antony John’s. Latest beauty (pubbed today! While I was in. Cue upbeat runway music*.

What were YA thinkin? This entry was posted on 11/06/2012, in Uncategorized. St Louis is a beauty, no? I wasn’t quite sure where to put this post, to be honest. I normally talk cover art here at TCG, my Tumblr isn’t meant for holding more than 100 words, and I sure wasn’t going to start another new personal blog. So I decided to post here. Feel free to skip over this entry if you’re used to the design-related posts, but read on for my St. Louis adventures! Dang We look tired. But HAPPY! We shopped for a ...

THE "C" WORD: April 2012
http://censorshipdown.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
A blog on censorship and other challenges to literature. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Where did we go wrong? What happened in society that showing the human body in a children's book is suddenly being equated with pornography? In a children's book the image is simply being presented as a body, but in porn, the images are highly sexualized and portray adults in sexual acts or posed to invite a sexual gaze. In The Dirty Cowboy. Are pornographic is beyond me! Had this to say:. I just think it's ridiculous," T...

Zetta Elliott's blog. Laquo; be radical. October 25, 2014 by elliottzetta. By Xmas. I have my first BPL-sponsored school visit in a few days and since I’m no longer teaching, I have plenty of days when I don’t have to leave the house. Which is good when I’m writing, but not so good when I’m not. Yesterday I went up to the Society of Illustrators to see The Original Art. Show and the Leo and Diane Dillon retrospective. How many are women of color? How many artists had multiple submissions? I have to belie...

Musing to Manuscript: July 2010
http://musing2manuscript.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 15, 2010. I’ve learned some valuables lessons so far during JulNoWriMo. First, I have to accept that the right words and sentences don’t always come pouring out. Second, I’ve learned not to look back, just keep moving forward. And lastly, I'm learning not to be too critical of myself for having a shitty first draft. I am taking comfort in the words of Earnest Hemingway, "The first draft of anything is shit.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Musing 2 Manuscript Playlist. Promote Your Page Too.
