A funny thing happened on the way to Ethiopia. The stories of my life as the mother of 5. Friday, September 6, 2013. Over 13 years ago, I made a choice; a choice to stay home with my baby. And that choice continued after each baby. 5 babies later, I am eternally grateful for the wisdom in that choice and that God provided my husband a job that allowed me that decision. I didn't get that job I wanted this summer because this one is even better for us. His hand is all over it. Thank you, Lord!

A funny thing happened on the way to Ethiopia........: April 2014

A funny thing happened on the way to Ethiopia. The stories of my life as the mother of 5. Sunday, April 13, 2014. Springing In To Me. I was invited to be a part of Glennon Melton's Messy, Beautiful Warrior Project. This essay written last year at this time is my truth. My messy beautiful truth. This year I learned from it all. I learned we all need grace. Sometimes, big huge double portions of grace. We usually need the grace when people feel least like giving it to us. Indeed He is. Always with me&#...

Carry On, Warrior. Bring G to You. Carry On, Warrior. Bring G to You. Get G in Your Inbox! Cool Ashes Can’t Burn Us. January 30, 2015. I believe that life starts when we stop running from pain and instead surrender to it. We can’t remain on the lam from pain forever. The running and deflecting and numbing. I posted it and your responses. How can I help you through the trauma? Yes I see this. This is real. We don’t need a magician to take it all away – we just need a witness.”. And Amy said, “I thin...

Reflections of the Carpenter's Daughter. Newer posts →. October 20, 2010. Not my favorite thing. In fact, it’s probably my least favorite thing. I am not talking about taking something old, slapping some cute crackle paint on it, and calling it “new.” I am talking about tearing it down, stripping off the paint, sanding, repairing, replacing screws, and COMPLETELY overhauling the thing. What is this thing? The conversation begins…. 8220;Daddy, why do we have to re-do THAT table? I begin getting out the to...

The Andersons: November 2013

Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Upon examination at the hospital, it was determined that his liver was NOT, in fact, enlarged. The cardiologists believe he has costochondritis, an inflammation where the ribs connect to the sternum. A few days of ibuprofen and he should be good to go. It's not dangerous, it just hurts. His EKG was normal, well, ok, "normal" for him. My explanation- God healed him. Is it a cut and dry healing? No Could either of the doctors have been wrong? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The road less travelled...: The road less traveled - part 3
http://flash-gordons.blogspot.com/2009/10/road-less-traveled-part-3.html
Sunday, October 18, 2009. The road less traveled - part 3. You know when you have that feeling that change is in the air but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is? That’s what the past couple of years have been like for us, and even more so this year. You know Gods got something new planned and has you in some sort of transition stage, but He only reveals a little to you at a time – sort of keeping you in suspense! So the plan that we thought was soooo perfect was soon to be blasted…. By the way,...

Friday, April 03, 2015. Capture life 365–week 50. After only a short 3 month blog absence, I’m back determined to complete my Capture Life 365 posts before moving on to any other blogging! Obviously these next three posts happened in the last weeks of 2014 which I’m aware most people will have now moved on from! Though for the sake of having a complete years worth of posts – and my kids telling me I have to post them, here they are – for my kids! Yes, we were just a little bit excited! We found an absolu...
