The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity ( DEO ) has announced that the minimum wage in Florida will increase by 12 cents from $7.93 to $8.05 per hour on January 1, 2015. According to data released by the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission, Claimants filed a record-high 37,955 retaliation charges with the EEOC in 2014. Retaliation charges accounted for almost 43 percent of all charges filed with the EEOC last year.
