Contact Us / Join Us. RE: Live Nest Cam near Hopper Mountain. Many thanks to Cornell. For helping to develop this Nest Cam. Sadly this nest failed. Approximately 1/3 of wild nests successfully fledge a condor. With the assistance provided by the condor crew the success rate improves to around 60%. We are looking forward to next years efforts and hope for another fascinating nest to watch. We will post the video here when it is available. 2012 Condor Nest Entry – 4 Clips. Contact Us / Join Us. Trail Quest: Sulphur Springs Trail | Songs of the Wilderness
https://songsofthewilderness.wordpress.com/2012/06/02/trail-quest-sulphur-springs-trail
Songs of the Wilderness. Posted by: James Wapotich. June 2, 2012. Trail Quest: Sulphur Springs Trail. The appeal of the Sulphur Springs Trail is that it lets one shave some miles off of the hike to Manzana Schoolhouse, which is normally 17 miles roundtrip from the trailhead near Nira Campground, making a day hike more possible or a longer multi-day backpacking trip through the area a little shorter, but not necessarily any easier. Bald Mountain and Hurricane Deck are seen from the Sulphur Springs Trail.

Songs of the Wilderness. Posted by: James Wapotich. May 4, 2015. Trail Quest: Visiting P-Bar Flat Campground. There are four different campgrounds found in the upper Santa Ynez River Recreation Area. Each of them can make for a good base camp from which to explore the different nearby trails. The campground at P-Bar Flat is located near Blue Canyon Trail, which connects to Cottam Camp, and can make for an interesting day hike destination. The Santa Ynez Mountains frame a view along Blue Canyon Trail.

Songs of the Wilderness. Posted by: James Wapotich. April 21, 2015. Trail Quest: Fish Creek. Springtime is one of the best times of the year to head out on our local trails. Even with the drought, there is still water in many of the creeks; the wildflowers are blooming; and the scenery can be quite enchanting. Scenery along Fish Creek. From the trailhead at Nira, Manzana Trail continues upstream and crosses Manzana Creek. The creek is currently flowing intermittently. From this first creek crossi...The t...
