Thursday, July 31, 2014. Doctor removed the large benign nodule, and found 2 smaller papillary cancer nodules behind it. The entire thyroid was then removed, as well as a parathyroid embedded in muscle. I'm having some sore throat pain, and I've been very sleepy. It hurts to talk, swallow, and clear throat. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I've also started on a steroid late last week. The headaches and pain are gone now so I'm thankful for that. The steroid will reduce any swelling from the tumors. My voice has been weak and sounds hoarse lately. I had a sore throat last week but the surgeon thinks its more a function of tumor growth. Next MRI will be early December. It just seems like good times are followed by setbacks over and over. But we just continue to take one day at a time. We sure dont know what the future holds but we know Who holds it.
