Sabbatical Ramblings: And So Home ...
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2014/10/and-so-home.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. And So Home . Up very early (my flight was at 7 am), and off to the airport. It was a grey and rainy morning and our taxi driver said that now that the rain had started, it wouldn't stop. Seems our timing was perfect! Was it worth it? I might have gotten a few things out of order, but I know that it is no mistake to say that this trip was absolutely everything I had hoped it would be, and so much more! Sabbatical Ramblings: Stanley Park
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2014/10/stanley-park.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Our second day on Hop-On Hop-Off we planned, among other things, to take the included Stanley Park excursion, and a trip to Granville Island (ferry ride also included). Then back on the bus to continue our tour. At the transfer point, we could get up close and personal with more sequoia. We also took the opportunity to walk around Stanley Park on our own, and then went to a spot where we could hop back on the bus! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sabbatical Ramblings: Hop-On Hop-Off
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2014/10/hop-on-hop-off.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. While we were on the Rocky Mountaineer we purchased tickets for two days of unlimited use of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. We had decided that we would use them on our return trip to Vancouver. We also were delighted to discover that one of the 23 stops was very close to our hotel. So we set off for a day of adventure, looking forward to seeing even more of the city. At the end of our day we went to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical. ALL done by hand. Sabbatical Ramblings: September 2009
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Well, I'm coming into the home stretch, heading home for the last time on sabbatical. I also had time to dip into the book I picked up at the Festival of Biblical Storytellers, on telling the Gospel story. But I've only dipped. My dipping tells me that I will be returning to it for further study. So I have a week of sabbatical left and several books that have been opened but not really perused. And now . now I have a train to catch! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Church of the ...

Sabbatical Ramblings: June 2011
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 28, 2011. I'm back after some away time. I spent most of my daytime with Sara Miles, and the rest of the time with friends, which, if you've read anything by Sara seems singularly appropriate. This time my companion book was Take This Bread. She quotes a "wise bishop" in affirming that "there's a hunger beyond food that's expressed in food, and that's why feeding is always a miracle.". Friday, June 10, 2011. This time I'm going to do it a different way, a much more economical way, and I'm i...

Sabbatical Ramblings: August 2009
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Well, I did say that I'd be back in Ontario - I just didn't anticipate that it would be quite this long between posts . but my little netbook. Is not always up to the challenge of picking up a weak signal and so . silence! The other challenge is that when most of the " unchurched. So many people searching for meaning, and we aren't even on their horizons - and not always because of negative experiences in their. And see how much more I can integrate . and contemplate where...

Sabbatical Ramblings: July 2014
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. This weekend I found that I didn't have the focus or the patience to sit down to do the exercises in either of the two books I've mentioned and so I dipped into a different ones. Sorry that all of the books I list will be older - some because I've acquired them during my 30 years in ministry, and some because the books that have been recommended seem to be those that are not recently published. Anyway, I turned to Simple Abundance. Friday, July 25, 2014. Nothing Much to See Here.

Sabbatical Ramblings: And back to Vancouver!
http://lrucsabbatical.blogspot.com/2014/10/and-back-to-vancouver.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. And back to Vancouver! After checking in, we went out for a walk to suss out the neighbourhood and get our bearings. As is our wont, we found our way to the water, and walked along the walking path (not to be confused with the bike path/roller bladers' path if you want to remain upright! Along the beach of English Bay. Stretched out on a rock, enjoying the sunshine - a lone seal (or sea lion - I'm not good at telling the difference.). And just enjoyed the view! The Practicing...
