Lucas on My Mind. Heart Babies, Tube feedings and Hospital Malarkey. Stanford – The Feeding Chronicles Continued. September 26, 2012. After 36 days in the hospital we were finally discharged. We went home with quite a different child. He had survived 36 x rays, two open heart surgeries, a heart catheter, two collapsed lungs, a cat scan, four intubations, several gi studies, a bronchoscopy, and a high fever. After being at CPMC for 5 days we were given the Ok to go home, and just in time for Thanksgiving.
