From Savannah to the Savanna. Tales from twenty-seven months in Tanzania. The End is Near. A Bed for Every Head! Well folks, the inevitable has happened. My bags are packed, house is emptied, goodbyes have been said and I’m officially no longer a teacher at Mwadui Tech Secondary School. What a two years it has been! It seems like an eternity and no time at all. 27 months definitely makes a difference. Days in Tanzania: 801. Hours spent on busses: 722 aka 30 entire days of service. Weeks of teaching: 72.

The past month has been spent doing a variety of activities outside of the norm. Vacations and meetings kept March extremely busy but now it’s back to school. Graduated with a BS in Biology, now putting that to use a as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching biology to about 250 secondary school students. Side note: this also was the first time I was able to run in shorts in a year and a half. Definitely a more enjoyable experience with knees exposed. Wild West takes on the Kili marathon.
