Between 1900 and 1914 the price was unbelievable high and the farmers and merchants in Oudtshoorn reaped the rewards. Sunday, July 29, 2012. PE : St Mary’s Cemetary. We spend the morning walking the Richmond Hill Trail in Port Elizabeth. We then returned to the guesthouse to relax for a while before going to the St Mary’s Cemetery. I learned about this old cemetery form the Port Elizabeth Daily Photo Blog. The cemetery was not in a very good condition when we visited. It was dirty with homeless people sleeping between the graves. We decided not to go in to deep. Thursday, July 9, 2015. The Queen Street Synagogue, Oudtshoorn. On our day trip to Oudshoorn we walk pass a beautiful stone building in Baron van Rheede Street. The gate was open and we decided to take a closer look. We walk around the building to the other side and found that this was a Synagogue. The first Hewbrew school in South Africa was established in Oudtshoorn in 1904. Part of the building complex includes the school building. The Queen Street Synagogue. Der Englishe Shul –. Our favourite kids things to do at the Point. We live in Mossel Bay, a small town next to the ocean. The town is still mainly a summer holiday destination when thousands of people come here to spend time in the ocean. The point area is about 2 kilometres from our house and one of our favourite places to go for a quick outing after work or during weekends.
