Prin of Curr. Development. Saturday, March 29, 2008. Assessing other Groups' Assessments? In referring to UbD, 2nd edition, the three basic questions assessors need to address are: 1) What kinds of evidence do we need to find hallmarks of our goals, including that of understanding? 2) What specific characteristics in student responses, products, or performances should we examine to determine the extent to which the desired results were achieved? Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Where has all the training gone?

Prin. of Curr. Development: How is Curriculum Developed
http://prinofcurrdev-mary.blogspot.com/2008/04/how-is-curriculum-developed.html
Prin of Curr. Development. Saturday, April 19, 2008. How is Curriculum Developed. We’ve had some heated discussions on whether the textbook is the curriculum; many districts use a textbook for their curriculum. I now know that the textbook can be a tool to develop curriculum but it shouldn’t drive the curriculum. Is it easier to use a textbook when developing curriculum, probably, but is it right for the students? I’m not so sure. April 20, 2008 at 10:46 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Prin. of Curr. Development: Feedback on UbD Plans
http://prinofcurrdev-mary.blogspot.com/2008/04/feedback-on-ubd-plans.html
Prin of Curr. Development. Thursday, April 17, 2008. Feedback on UbD Plans. I’m one of those learners that like to have the criteria of assessment prior to completing a project. The rubric given out will help me refine my piece. I’m glad this was just a draft. I sometimes provide my students with the assessment criteria in the middle of a writing process piece, but now I think I’m changing my philosophy to always distribute the criteria prior to the assignment being started. Prin. of Curr. Development: Where has all the training gone?
http://prinofcurrdev-mary.blogspot.com/2008/03/where-has-all-training-gone.html
Prin of Curr. Development. Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Where has all the training gone? Am I wrong in thinking that this type of unit design could be shared and put in place in school’s curriculum guides? I’m getting the sense, much of the work could be done as part of curriculum development that occurs in the summer. March 7, 2008 at 9:14 AM. March 9, 2008 at 11:10 PM. Prin. of Curr. Development: CCCS Project
http://prinofcurrdev-mary.blogspot.com/2008/04/cccs-project.html
Prin of Curr. Development. Friday, April 25, 2008. It was quite interesting to analyze another unfamiliar CCCS. We needed to evaluate and summarize the Technology Core Curriculum Content Standards. I teach English and I use a lot of technology, but I never really thought that it covers the CCCS for technology. This assignment helped me realize that what I do really does cover more than one CCCS. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Princ of Curr Dev - Thursday. How is Curriculum Developed.

Prin. of Curr. Development: What I Learned
http://prinofcurrdev-mary.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-i-learned.html
Prin of Curr. Development. Saturday, April 26, 2008. Now that I have a firmer foundation of designing lessons and starting with the end, I design my own lessons differently. I always ask myself – so what? Why am I teaching them what I have planned? Where do I go from here? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Princ of Curr Dev - Thursday. How is Curriculum Developed. Prin. of Curr. Development: February 2008

Prin of Curr. Development. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Enduring Understanding. So What? That made the most sense to me when reading the chapter on “Crafting Understanding”. If you really think about it, what difference does it make what we teach students unless there’s an answer for the, “So what? 8221; question. Reading. Handbook really makes me reflect upon what I am teaching, why I am teaching what I currently teach and what I should be teaching. That’s my first attempt at framing understandings ...

Prin of Curr. Development. Thursday, January 31, 2008. My personal mission statement, as I have said, has changed, but overall remains the same from year to year. Here's my initial attempt to put it in writing:.
