Thursday, February 26, 2009. This is IT, the BIG day! THE birthday of our big girl Amélie! Keeping in tradition with birthday 1. We had lots of fun today:. We brought fresh flowers and stickers to do crafts with our day care friends, and we treated everyone to a medley of berries in waffle ice cream bowls that the kiddos all ate with great delight:. We arrived back at our house from day care to discover the wonderful surprise decorations Kim put on our porch over her lunch break (THANK YOU SOOO MUCH):.

Friday, February 26, 2010. Amélie turned 4 today! Here is a summary of the festivities! We went to her classroom for cake and fruit - these are the same kids as she has been celebrating with for the last 3 years! See the previous parties here. Here is the video from their birthday song:. The main splurge was this over the top 'Princess and the Frog' cake:. She had been consistently asking for it since December, so we gave in and I must say that this cake was absolutely beautiful! March 5, 2010 at 7:55 AM.

She also is showing some promise for engineering/architecture, with 'buildings' she decorates:. In May, we loved having our friends from Bloomington come and visit us in DC. We hope to see them again soon! Now that summer is here, Amélie is taking full advantage of the pool on the roof of our building, she loves water (like her dad)! She has also started swimming lessons:.

Monday, July 4, 2011. Summer Fun, including 4th of July. So many activities this summer! First a visit to the Aquarium:. The closest restaurant available was the 'Hard Rock', so Amélie got to experience a first there too:. Second, Amélie is learning how to swim and is getting really comfortable in water, this is great given that we go to the pool on our roof as often as possible:. Yesterday, we went to see 'Charlotte's Web' at the Adventure Theater. The Rhythm and Blues performance was awesome:.

Ah Trick or Treating, such a fun time - Amélie chose to be 'Thumbelina' this year, and went to lots of fun activities with her dad, as I was driving back from the Net Impact Conference:. Amélie got a pumpkin painted on her face (she was very impressed by the bunny ears):. She did tons of crafts at the museum of World Cultures, she really enjoyed it:.
