The Wahoo Journals: March 2008

http://lukeandannie.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

March 24, 2008. Semana Santa in Danli. We have successfully made it through our second Semana Santa (Holy week) here in Honduras! On Thursday and Friday there were processions by the Catholic church and since our house is so close to the city center, we could watch them from our front door (see pics below). Kids in the window are Andrea and Daniel. They live on our street. Carrying a statue of Jesus on the cross. Processions Friday evening that went right by our house:. Links to this post. http://lukeandannie.blogspot.com/2008/08/trip-home-work-here-etc.html

August 8, 2008. Trip home, work here, etc. So here’s the promised blog with pictures. The last three months have been busy – involving lots of traveling and even quite a bit of work (thus the lack of blogging). Anyway, here’s what’s been going on…. Chad and his wife Sarah. With my brothers Chad and Josh. Luke and I on his parent´s farm. We had lots of great time with our nieces! Anica above and Aila and Lila below. The Gingerichs (and Huddles! The cover of the manual. The tables set up for the workshop.

The Wahoo Journals: April 2008

http://lukeandannie.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

April 28, 2008. The buzz on seasonal, local eating. I remember hearing my grandma or grandpa tell me about how at Christmas time they would get an orange in their stocking and how big a deal this was given the lack of fruit (other than canned) during the Midwest winters. Oranges, like many other seasonal fruits and vegetables, used to be just that,. So what has happened? We are fortunate (or maybe unfortunate? Vary from season to season). So what does it matter. One of our goals upon returning to the Sta...

The Jansen Family: October 2008

http://thejansenbaby.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 25, 2008. Corey and Harrison came out to watch me run the Des Moines half marathon last Sunday, Oct. 19th. It actually went better than I'd expected (I think I ran faster to see those two handsome boys at the finish line :). This one's not at the marathon but I just thought it was so cute I had to add it in! Monday, October 6, 2008. Our first blog video. Hope you are all enjoying the fall weather. Hopefully it lasts awhile before winter sets in. Take care everyone. Shelly and Jay Johnson.

The Jansen Family: October 2010

http://thejansenbaby.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 23, 2010. We made a trip to the Center Grove Orchard last Saturday morning and it was money well spent. We were there for over three hours and Harrison loved every minute. All four grandparents came along so HJ didn't hurt for attention. He ate almost a whole carmel apple. Took a turn on the slide with all of us. He really loved the jumping pillow - he kept singing no more monkeys jumping on the bed. Three grandparents in the corn pool and the other one taking pictures.

The Jansen Family: February 2009

http://thejansenbaby.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Milestones (yeah) and sickness (yuck). We have had quite the eventful February! Full of both good and bad. I am a proud mom and admittedly not so great at keeping the baby book updated, so this blog is a good place to record stuff. Anyway, first for the good news: Harrison is crawling. Not conventional, but rather a hybrid military-style army crawl, inch-worm type of thing but it gets the job done! Sunday, February 1, 2009. Getting ready to head to church.

The Jansen Family: December 2008

http://thejansenbaby.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 5, 2008. Just a few new pictures to wish everyone a happy Friday. Harrison is now almost sitting up, rolling over both ways, eating real food (when he feels like it), and in the middle of his second ear infection. That last one is not so much fun and the medicine is terrible but we are getting by. Take care and stay warm! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Shelly and Jay Johnson.

The Jansen Family: Our little monkey

http://thejansenbaby.blogspot.com/2009/11/our-little-monkey.html

Wednesday, November 4, 2009. We had a pretty good Halloween. Harrison's original costume was a monkey but he wasn't so sure about that so he ended up as an Iowa football player - 4th quarter Ricky Stanzi, as Corey said. We made the rounds to the grandparents in Sully and had a nice evening for it. Here are some new pictures. They're not quite in order (haircut was a few weeks before Halloween) but I am not finding the patience to move them around so close to my bedtime. Not a happy monkey.

Sunday, January 4, 2009. My how a month has flown by since our last post. We must apologize to any followers of this blog for our period of inactivity. Hopefully with all the holiday commotion, you'll cut us some slack. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed bringing in 2009 with a Hawkeye victory. As always, we've provided some new pictures of the little fella for your viewing pleasure. Take care everyone. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Shelly and Jay Johnson.

The Nelson Family Blog | Life, love, cats, and a baby on the way . . .

The Nelson Family Blog. August 30, 2015. On Saturday, August 22, 2015, we celebrated Henry’s first birthday! We invited friends and family to our house for cake and ice cream, and Henry had a blast. It has been such a joy and a privilege to watch him grow and learn so much this past year. The day he was born was the happiest and most exciting day of our lives, and each day since has only gotten better. Oh My, Oh My, Oh Dinosaurs! But Not the Hippopotamus. Go, Dog. Thursday, February 15, 2018. This Is The House That Love Built. Let me just preface this by saying that this house is WAAAAY too good for us. We know. And we feel so lucky every day. To wake up here. When we decided to build our dream house straight out of residency in a field in Idaho, I know people thought we were crazy. And I was right there with them. But I have to say that building and designing this house was one of the funnest hardest craziest scariest most rewarding things I've ever done. And sin...
