Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Went to the Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester. Had a smashing time. We won lots of medals. Many truly awesome performances, by British and visiting riders. Next year the world championships are being held in Manchester. I just might go. Posted by Luke Piewalker at 1:38 PM. Thursday, February 15, 2007. Sunday, October 08, 2006. After a few weeks of frustrating light winds I was all set to give it a miss if today looked like being more of the same. I usually do reasonably well in light winds, it's just there isn't much of that there excitement involved. So when I trundled up to the sailing club things were looking quite promising, around a top end force three with a lot of gusts about. So around the appointed time headed out for the first race. Lots of planing around before the start (wahey! So having m...

Sunday, November 20, 2005. Missed the Revolution 10 event at Manchester velodrome last night. Sounds like a good time was had by all though. Will be going down to the Manchester World Cup event in December, but just for the Sunday. Always good to see top class racing though. Acquired an electro acoustic guitar from my dad, which has been dispatched for a fret dress or refret, whichever is required. I fear it will be a refret. Posted by Luke Piewalker at 9:50 AM. Ken's Blog: War & Peace - The Review

http://piewalker.blogspot.com/2011/07/war-peace-review.html

Friday, 22 July 2011. War and Peace - The Review. So I have now finished War and Peace. All 1358 pages. Tolstoy certainly pulls no punches in his analysis of historical figures and the historians who judge their 'Greatness'. His fundamental argument being that the decisions of 'Great' leaders have little to do with the course of warfare. I'm willing to be open to the suggestion that it has lost something in the translation, there were the odd paragraphs that just plain didn't make sense. View my complete...

Ken's Blog: December 2008

http://piewalker.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 31 December 2008. Christmas and New Year. Another few additions to my collections. As a Christmas present I got myself a Unicorn Dartmate, into which I have mounted my Nodor Supermatch board. So if I get a job elsewhere I won't have to drill holes in walls and stuff. I also got a couple of Winmau Blade III boards which were on offer at tesco. So I won't be needing any more boards for a while. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Christmas and New Year. Friday, 23 May 2008. Well, the Bobby George ones are very similar to the Silver Tungsten ones, not surprisingly I suppose. The Stubby John Part darts do feel quite good, nice and chunky but not so large as to cause me much trouble. Think I still prefer the 'normal' JP signatures though. Tuesday, 20 May 2008. Not much movement on the darts front recently. Still haven't mounted my new dartboard as the old one is holding together well for the time being. Have acquired another couple of sets of darts:.

Ken's Blog: War And Peace Vol 3 Pt. 1

http://piewalker.blogspot.com/2011/07/war-and-peace-vol-3-pt-1.html

Sunday, 10 July 2011. War And Peace Vol 3 Pt. 1. I am now up to Part II of Volume 3 of War and Peace. Since my last report we have mostly been in the realm of peace, although an emotionally turbulent peace for some. There has been the odd foray into war, and things are now heading inexorably in that direction. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). War and Peace - The Review. End of Volume 3, War and Peace. Saturday, 8 November 2008. Another couple of new additions. On the left a set of Unicorn Catalyst 80% Tungsten 23g. On the right a set of Winmau Cyclone 90% Tungsten TiN 22g (Movable Point). I was after a set of Movable Point darts just to try them, and saw these on the ebay, all they needed was a bit of a clean. Still not entirely sold on the concept but it would be a bit of a hole in the collection. The unicorns I have no real excuse for. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://piewalker.blogspot.com/2011/07/war-peace-part-ii.html

Friday, 1 July 2011. War and Peace Part II. I have now completed part two of War and Peace. Thinks have now definitely moved into war territory. No discussion of peace, but a hint of treachery in the air. It's now War 1-1 Peace. We are now definitely at DEFCON1. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). War and Peace - The Review. http://piewalker.blogspot.com/2011/07/war-peace-vol-ii-part-1.html

Sunday, 3 July 2011. War and Peace Vol II Part 1. I have now completed part one (vol. II) of War and Peace. This one back towards the peace again, although we must be wary of the fact that there is much emotional turmoil ongoing. It's now War 3-3 Peace. There was a duel, but it wasn't fatal. After a rather disappointing defeat, we are back at DEFCON 4. However, further warlike action is heaving into view over the horizon, so a return to DEFCON 3 would be prudent. Saturday, 2 July 2011. War and Peace Part Three. I have now completed part three of War and Peace. A bit more of a backwards and forwards between the War and the Peace. It's now War 2-2 Peace. We are drifted towards DEFCON2 while visiting the home front, then rapidly back to DEFCON1. Here endeth Volume 1. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). War and Peace - The Review.
