WHERE DREAMS ARE BORN. These subjects are a sampling of the paintings that Lumbers has created over the years. Hockey is certainly one of the cornerstones of sports in Canada. Shown here are portraits of two of the greatest players of all time, Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky. Each painting has a pictorial history of how they started their careers. When issued these were two of the most successful prints at the time.

When Lumbers first started to paint, his subjects were almost exclusively wildlife subjects. His paintings were displayed in a travelling show across Canada sponsored by the National Museums of Canada.
