On 02, Apr 2011 No Comments. This is a robot I designed, modelled, and textured using Autodesk Maya. I also created a rough animation “Insieme nel mondo [Together in the World]” for a university class(2010) in which the robot finds himself alone, only to find his “community” via a curiously aggravating spotlight. In this post I also show some of the modelling and concept art I created for another student short-firm “Par 2” (2008). The following are some Par 2’s concept art.

A piece initially developed with the aim of determining how the usability of the Leap Motion device is affected when controlling a virtual marionette, it was picked up by the Cinekid Children’s Festival in Amsterdam as a new media exhibit. Created using a custom built deferred renderer, models modelled and textured in Maya, and Bullet physics it explores a virtual spaceman floating around a moon. It was seen on display at the Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam, October 2013.

On 02, Jan 2012 No Comments. This was an interactive project for an Ottawa cellists performance; as well as a VJ performance at a local Ottawa bar. Using Openframeworks (C and OpenGL) I created a large-projection piece that would react to the beat of the music being played. Much of the special effects are created using several particle systems and OpenGL effects. A PS3 camera and the OpenCV framework was used to track this motion and guide the particles on the screen.

On 01, Jan 2012 No Comments. A local cellist was to premiere a newly composed cello piece and asked me to create a handout he could pass around to advertise the show. After a short photography shoot I had with him I decided to go with a dark theme to match the darker tone of the cello and his music style.
