Bigfuzzydoug’s Ten Points to Swimming:. Now here’s the bad news. Since water is much denser than air, it requires THE CUBE to overcome hydrodynamic drag as you go faster! There is a massive difference between the power output while swimming at 1.5 mph and 2 mph. As you get faster, it gets (X times X times X) more difficult! So rather than focusing on power and endurance, the first step is to minimize that drag. This is the most crucial part in learning how to swim! So let’s get to those ten tips:. 2) I w...

Posted by george in Stuff. My running form is still not what I want it to be, but that will take some time. But at least I am able to get back in my running shoes and start a regular workout plan to get ready for a half marathon in September. No record breakers planned for that race, just getting in the miles and using that as a carrot for training. I’m looking forward to the increase in miles and shooting for my 5K PR early next season. Never too old, NEVER! Posted by george in Things. Yesterday I went to the pool for my usual Tuesday laps. When I headed into the pool area I noticed that some of the lanes at the far end of the pool were blocked off. As I got closer I noticed a simple office printed sign that was taped to a chair that read, Swim. Getting Back into the game! Posted by george in Things. Posted by george in Things. Posted by george in Stuff. On parr with what usually happens when my training is ramped up, the aches and pains have grown into some nagging issues. It has always been a fine line I dance to become fitter without developing an injury severe enough to put me back on the sideline. And Tae Kwon Do practice in preparation for my upcoming test is no different. So when do you pull back and when do you push forward? Then switch focus to the next exciting achievement. GORUCK! Back to multi sport. Posted by george in Multi-sport. Now that I have finished up with my Black Belt testing I am finally able to get back to some different training. Specifically, back to multi sports! Another decade gone by means it’s time to follow through with a promise to myself and do an Ironman for my 50th birthday. What I can’t believe is that it has been 10 years since my last IM race. Where has the time gone? Although next year will climax with the Beach 2 Battleship. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
