Not much here yet. let's call it a work in progress. Tuesday, May 02, 2006. My 4th $1000 Poker Tournament Win. 1:30 am (and, boy will I be tired tomorrow). The win is slightly less than it looks like, because I agreed to a 50/50 chop on the last round, meaning I and the second place finisher agreed to split the $583.20 down the middle, before the match even started. We played it "only for the glory", if there can be such a thing at 1:30 am. At least I don't have any real contested hearings set tomorrow.

Not much here yet. let's call it a work in progress. Sunday, May 14, 2006. My 5th $1000 win (and a bit of disappointment). Slightly more than $800 profit, so definitely not bad. Got all in in my last match (for what would have been a better than 2-1 lead) with 44 againt 45. no 5 on the flop meant I was a 9-1 favorite to win the hand, but he turned a 5 and I was out. That’s all well and good, but back to my client, let’s face it: this is still something a jury is going to think is a bogus stop. Also, the officer had testified that he runs these checks all the time, and that it wasn’t unusual for the information he received by way of dispatch to be incorrect. One more sad fact I suppose: I'm sure this sort of thing happens at least 10 times ...

Tiger Woods posts a front nine of two under, with several difficult par saves. Tiger has said in the past that saving par (from e.g., a difficult up and down, or recovering for par from an errant tee shot) can give him at least as much satisfaction as a birdie, depending on the situation.
