Great Central Railway

One of Lucy's many 40th birthday celebrations was a trip on the Great Central Railway, with lunch at Quorn. In addition to Lucy's ordered dessert, there was this lovely unexpected bonus. After lunch, looking down on the platforms at Quorn and Woodhouse station, where we will pick up the train again to take us on the rest of our little outing. The train arrives from Loughborough.

Grand Union Canal: Birmingham to Leamington Spa. 31 May to 1 June 2014. We enjoyed the company of Paul and Christine Balmer of Waterway Routes. Earlier in the year when we had a lovely four days. We met at 9.30 on Saturday morning at Sherborne Wharf in central Birmingham, and almost immediately were underway, descending the 13 locks of the Farmers Bridge flight and the 6 Ashted Locks.
