Lupus Lemon-Aid: November 2011
http://lupusinternationalblog.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 26, 2011. Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. I've had a bad hair day for about five years now, or has it been more like ten? Regardless of how long, the fact of the matter is that my hair is noticeably thinner and I'm not liking it. For the record, I'm 53 years old with dark brown hair but do not. Not contributing in any way to my hair falling out. Phew. Three weeks later I can't say I actually see a difference in my hair. yet- But I'm hoping I will. I have, however, seen a significant...Joann...

Kicking Lupus in the butt while LIVING life! Thursday, December 15, 2011. The end of the semester is finally here! The last day of classes was yesterday and now the only thing standing between me and nirvana are my three finals! This semester took about five years off of my life – three months of being a big ball of stress can take its toll, thankfully I didn’t reach complete burnout level (but I think Ed would beg to differ)! It may not seem like a long time but for those that know me…. While I’m ...

Life, Interrupted: March 2012

Kicking Lupus in the butt while LIVING life! Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Well it’s finally caught up to me! That’s right, I’ve managed to stress my way into an active flare and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. Well, is there ever a really good time? No, but I suppose if its going to happen, it might as well be over my spring break when I have the time to rest and relax as opposed to making it worse with my 14-hour days when I am in school. When a flare hits, it affects each person differently as well.

Kicking Lupus in the butt while LIVING life! Friday, July 29, 2011. The Heart of Life is Good. I can’t believe how quickly this week has flown by! Looking back it seemed so busy but sitting here thinking about it I felt like I got nothing accomplished! It was Ed’s first week back at work after his six week medical leave for his knee surgery. It’s been an adjustment getting back to our old routine – it was so nice having him home and just being able to spend time with him. He believes that if those muscle...

Kicking Lupus in the butt while LIVING life! Thursday, September 15, 2011. One of my goals in beginning this blog was to meet new people – not just those living with lupus but anyone who has had some sort of experience with lupus whether it is through a family member, friends, co-workers, etc. Social media has been a great medium for connecting with people and learning just how many people have been affected by lupus! Another amazing chick living with l. Upus with a secondary complication of Transverse M...

Lupus Lemon-Aid: September 2011
http://lupusinternationalblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 28, 2011. These are my friends BB and Rosebud- They are cousins, best friends and two determined nine year olds on a mission. Despite a very serious kidney disease of her own, Rosebud (pictured on the right) fund-raises all year long for lupus because her mom has the nasty disease. With BB by her side every step of the way, you'd be blown away by the amount of support and money these two dynamos raise. All of this while Rosie is fighting to keep her kidneys functioning. I help people...

Lupus Lemon-Aid: Fingers and Toes
http://lupusinternationalblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/fingers-and-toes.html
Friday, January 13, 2012. The minute my friend told me, bells and whistles went off in my brain! She said manicures and pedicures could cause some serious health issues for me because of my lupus and also to anyone who's not careful. The mention of Hepatitis C is what set the alarms off and gave me pause. Because I knew little about it. I'm a clean freak and so is my nail salon owner, plus, I already take my own equipment with me- But heads up people! Here's what he had to say. A There is no link between...
