A running account of my time in Lusaka with the Zambian Campaign to Ban Landmines
Louis in Lusaka: November 2008
http://lusakalou.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A running account of my time in Lusaka with the Zambian Campaign to Ban Landmines. Friday, November 28, 2008. A whole new Mumbai. News of shootings and hostage crises in Mumbai shocked the world, and rightfully so. USA Today writes that the gunmen delivered. An unmistakable message: This U.S.-friendly democracy of 1.2 billion people has joined the front lines of the global war on terrorism" (via Slate. BBC summarizes the turn of events here. Louis in Lusaka: February 2009
http://lusakalou.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
A running account of my time in Lusaka with the Zambian Campaign to Ban Landmines. Saturday, February 21, 2009. Kariba to Ottawa, and thank you! View of Lake Kariba. For the last three weeks, I've been couch surfing in Montreal and Toronto, fundraising and organizing events for Canadian Landmine Action Week. For those who enjoyed reading this blog, thank you! I enjoyed writing it. I won't be continuing it, except to use it as a convenient URL for other purposes – like the exciting quilt raffle. I'll post...
Louis in Lusaka: December 2008
http://lusakalou.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
A running account of my time in Lusaka with the Zambian Campaign to Ban Landmines. Monday, December 29, 2008. Are we theeere yet? Through the sweat, cramped muscles and inexhaustible waiting, I have met fascinating people and shared good conversations. Coming back from Mt. Mulanje to Blantyre, Malawi's business capital, Nathan and I rode in the back of a pickup truck, a common mode of transport known as. Transport, and we all laughed heartily. The worst of such waiting periods, however, was relieved by a...
Louis in Lusaka: Mozambique take ten
http://lusakalou.blogspot.com/2009/01/mozambique-take-ten.html
A running account of my time in Lusaka with the Zambian Campaign to Ban Landmines. Saturday, February 7, 2009. A great impromptu performance, a marimba with drums and shakers, on Tofo beach. This provided a nice reprieve from the herds of South African tourists who dominated the hostels and beaches during the holidays – my entire time there. Moses is the tall man with sunglasses in the top right. Central Maputo, from underneath the gate to the botanical gardans – you can see the back of the statue ...

Nathan in Mozambique: Blog 7 - On being a tourist...
http://nathaninmz.blogspot.com/2008/11/blog-7-on-being-tourist.html
The life and times of one Canadians internship with Handicap International's demining program in beautiful Mozambique. Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Blog 7 - On being a tourist. Started to feel like I have been here for a long while over the last couple of weeks. Long enough to feel routine, but prooving to be anything but that. It’s pretty warm as of late, lots of weather rolling through, and even on the dry calm nights one expects at least a temporary blackout. Still no laptop battery, but the...Dinner ...

http://nathaninmz.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The life and times of one Canadians internship with Handicap International's demining program in beautiful Mozambique. Friday, December 19, 2008. Blog 9 – Feliz Natal e Properos 2009! So you may have been wondering where I have been as of late. Ocean is a beautiful temperature now, just barely fresh near shore on a calm day but if you swim out and down a few meters you are still in for a truly refreshing experience. No Flamingos though, but that is the only drawback I assure you! Miss you all dearly, but...

The Lusaka Consensus: My first attempt: Little Mountain, Nat Bailey and the new Olympic curling centre
http://aaronleaf.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-first-attempt-at-video-little.html
Aaron's back in Vancouver. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. My first attempt: Little Mountain, Nat Bailey and the new Olympic curling centre. Inspired by the way some newspapers are using the web to tell a story I decided to try my hand at internet video. This doesn't really have a narrative and is basically me dumping my photos into iMovie and imperfectly scoring it with a Fennesz song but I kinda like the way it turned out. And there's a great deal of insecurity around joblessness and closing shelters. Nice wor...

Nathan in Mozambique: September 2008
http://nathaninmz.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
The life and times of one Canadians internship with Handicap International's demining program in beautiful Mozambique. Monday, September 29, 2008. Highlights of the north include: washing in a pail of cold water mainly to provide contrast to the hot shower three days later, total portuguese immersion with the travelling maintenance team (my dictionary rarely left my side), and a chance to see Mozambique beyond the palm trees of Inhambane province. An if it all didnt sound entertaining enough, the winds h...
Lusaka 2008: Sitting allowance
http://lusaka2008.blogspot.com/2008/12/sitting-allowance.html
Lusaka 2008: december 2008
http://lusaka2008.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Onsdag 31 december 2008.
