In January of 1994, Pennsylvania expanded Medical Assistance coverage for drug and alcohol treatment by extending ACT 152 pilot programs state-wide. The Intake Unit, through the Case Management Program, is designated to provide ACT 152 services to indigent Lehigh County residents who require residential treatment. The Case Management Program is not an emergency unit, Case Managers, as well as Intake Unit Staff, can provide services for individuals with urgent needs.
