Thursday, April 11, 2013. Ascanius Monkey Habitat Now Open! Ascanius Monkey Habitat Now Open! The CRPL is very pleased to partner with Columbus Zoo in announcing the completion of the newest enclosure at the sanctuary. Thanks to funding from Columbus Zoo, the CRPL has constructed their most recent Monkey Habitat for Conservation and Education for the next group of monkeys. The monkeys moved into this new habitat were 14 Ascanius, or Red-Tailed, Monkeys and 2 Dents Monkeys. The frame starts to go up.

Thursday, June 21, 2012. Yesterday we received a newly confiscated chimpanzee female named Mbandaka. She was confiscated from poachers on the other side of the DRC in the province of Mbandaka, near the capital Kinshasa. She was initially monitored by Lola ya Bonobo, the only Bonobo sanctuary in the world, located in Kinshasa, who worked hard to secure her transfer to the CRPL.
