My full time job | Going Solo

https://ruthgoingsolo.wordpress.com/2013/05/29/my-full-time-job/comment-page-1

Where music and writing converge. My full time job. May 29, 2013. At this point my Going Solo, voice and piano lesson business out of my home is my new full time job. I’m done teaching in the public school system at least for the next year. What this means is…my attention is fully devoted to learning, studying, teaching and modifying lessons to fit your unique needs in learning music. I am able to choose vocal music that fits your specific interests and needs. Same thing with piano lessons. If you’...

Time for a fresh start…a worthwhile investment. | Going Solo

https://ruthgoingsolo.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/time-for-a-fresh-start-a-worthwhile-investment/comment-page-1

Where music and writing converge. Time for a fresh start…a worthwhile investment. August 12, 2013. I haven’t posted on this blog in a long time! I’ve been into the whole summer experience just like most of you I suppose. I’ve also had some people who have had some hard times hit and when looking at their budget paying for lessons seemed like an easy way to put money back in. Again, I understand, I’ve been making several cuts to my budget this summer as well. My list of open lesson times are at the top of...

Open House… | One Life Well Lived

https://onelifewelllived.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/open-house

One Life Well Lived. Purpose of this blog. Been a little busy around here lately…. Full attention →. September 4, 2013. I’ve never done this before, on a number of levels and I still need to whip my home into shape before 6pm…. Part of me always doubts…will anybody actually show up tonight? Maybe not…it’s pretty short notice. I just got the idea and decided it was worth a shot. I also like the idea of making contact with people even if they don’t decide to purchase anything. Full attention →. Been a litt...

Where music and writing converge. January 1, 2014. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve wrote here! Maybe you’ve taken as a child or had a few lessons or musical experiences here and there…wherever you currently are is a great place to begin. I have children as young as 1st grade all the way through retired adults (boys and girls, men and women) taking lessons currently and I can tell you music crosses all barriers. One Life Well Lived. Purpose of this blog. September 11, 2013. In the process of me going on sabbatical, a year off from teaching, and writing/thinking about what matters to me I’ve been drawn to wanting to merge these two blogs. Most people don’t write on multiple blogs like I do🙂. I currently have been writing on 4! I will continue to write on my letterstoleadyouhome.com blog (These are letters written to my two girls in their teenage years. They are my heart and this blog will continue :). You are co...

September 11, 2013. Hey…if you’ve been following this blog I need to make you aware of a big change. I’ve been writing on two blogs for the past year, this one and also onelifewelllived.wordpress.com. Now that I’m ‘off the ride’ it seemed only natural to focus on embracing the day. I hope you think so too. If you enjoyed this post feel free to share it with your friends. September 9, 2013. This self employment thing is teaching me much about myself. https://onelifewelllived.wordpress.com/2013/09/06/full-attention/comment-page-1

One Life Well Lived. Purpose of this blog. Something new →. September 6, 2013. I want to try something new today. I want to make an effort that when people are talking with me (most likely my two daughters), I will give them my full attention. I want to see what it’s like when I listen and don’t try to do anything at the same time. Is it even possible? I am the queen of efficiency. Truth be told, I’ve always prided myself on this fact. Has this been foolish? How often do I only half listen? This entry wa...

A collection of random thoughts | Off the Ride

https://offtheride.wordpress.com/2013/09/06/a-collection-of-random-thoughts

A collection of random thoughts. September 6, 2013. I’ve been busy making cold pressed soap lately. So far I’ve made Almond Biscotti and Chocolate Espresso. They both smelled divine. I’ve already cut the bars for the first and they are curing. Just in cleaning up afterwards some of the soap got on my hands and wow, I couldn’t believe how amazing it is. Pure luxury soap! In the next two weeks I plan to make 13 other varieties. A basic 4 oil soap with no scent. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Notify me of new ...

Noen ekle bilder ...

I n mijn schilderijen wil ik wonen. Verf is mijn voertuig.

Lydia's License

I completed the pre-MSN phase of Marquette University's Direct Entry Nursing program in 2005. After an eight-month long campaign I was able to transfer my nursing license from Wisconsin to Mississippi. Most (if not all) other states should accept Marquette Direct Entry students for RN licensure as well. I explain it all below. To read the whole story click on this header. Thursday, October 23, 2008. Update: license accepted in Louisiana without a hitch. At the completion of the pre. I expect that most, i...

Lydia's Thoughts | Much A Moaning About Nothing

Much A Moaning About Nothing. Do not hire me for my poor family. July 26, 2016. I recently participated in a discussion about how many employees are actively seeking to employ people of colour and people from underprivileged areas to promote equality. I feel that this employs a sort of pity, an attitude that you only got the job so the company doesn’t face inequality allegations. I totally get it, a company should promote and reflect equality, but that doesn’t mean it should exclude applications from peo...

Sunday, February 28, 2010. The Joy of Reading. Whenever we are around kids who attend school, I am always amazed at how reading for them is often a chore, part of their homework, instead of the joyful pursuit that it is for my children (and me! I will hear parents say things like, "Did you do your 15 minutes of reading yet? Or I will hear children complaining that they have to read! What a different scene in our house! So Many Books, So Little Time." I couldn't agree more! Here are SOME of our returns la...
