the show must go on: July 2007
http://lynnae337.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
The show must go on. Commentary on news and pop culture through the eyes of a 16 year old. Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Wicked - The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz. On July 12 I traveled to Lansing, Michigan, more specifically The Wharton Center. Even more specifically Orchestra-Right, Row C Seat 6. Here in this seat I witnessed perhaps the best performance and show I have ever seen. If you get the chance to see Wicked, hear the soundtrack, or watch a youtube video of the show do it! You will not be sorry!

Bob's bloggery: July 2011
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 21, 2011. Numen by Phil Keaggy and Kyle Jones. Phil Keaggy has been recording albums on his own or with others for about forty years now. He has something like 70 albums in his catalog. So how do you make that much music and keep it fresh and creative? Phil does it by looking for new collaborators. These collaborations have paid off. His album with Jeff Johnson, Frio Suite. Is one of my favorites and is still in heavy rotation on my playlist. Is a lot of fun. His latest album, Numen. The I...
Bob's bloggery: Chennai Journal - Part One
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2006/08/chennai-journal-part-one_01.html
Tuesday, August 01, 2006. Chennai Journal - Part One. I'm just back from my amazing trip to India. I'm home now but while I was in Chennai, India I wrote about my trip. I'll be posting some of what I wrote while I was there over the next few days. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 4:00 PM – Chennai, India. Make it a line five deep of people packed together and you have the idea. So we went back inside, convincing a soldier with a rifle that we had good reason to, and hired a taxi to take us to the Savera Hotel.
Bob's bloggery: Favorite albums of the year
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2010/12/favorite-albums-of-year.html
Sunday, December 19, 2010. Favorite albums of the year. I’ve not updated this blog very much this year – my job has kept me especially busy lately. But I have been listening to a lot of music (I still have my 45 min commute) and, as I have done for the past few years, I have compiled a list of my favorite music for the year. So here they are, in no particular order - the albums that especially got me excited this year. Robert Plant / Band of Joy. 8211; This album surprised me. I listened to Raising Sand.

Bob's bloggery: Country Music
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2011/06/country-music.html
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. This spring I’ve flirted with listening to country music. This is something that is a bit of a surprise to me since I’ve been a pretty serious non-country music guy for a while. The vocal style got to me and I had a prejudice against the music that made me resist it. But I had a long appreciation for 70’s country rock (early Eagles, Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers) and I’ve reacquainted myself with Poco lately so I was in a mood to appreciate it. I’d go there again in a minute.
Bob's bloggery: Memorable McCartney Solo Songs
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2011/06/memorable-mccartney-solo-songs.html
Friday, June 24, 2011. Memorable McCartney Solo Songs. Earlier this week I stumbled across this article. About Paul McCartney’s 12 Most Memorable Solo Songs and thought the list was interesting. There were a number of things on the list that I would not have included. The deal is to pick. McCartney’s best recordings without the Beatles or Wings or the Fireman. So that means his first two albums (. And then everything from. On except the Fireman stuff. The hard part for me is to keep it to just twelve.
Bob's bloggery: 50 albums that changed music
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2006/07/50-albums-that-changed-music.html
Thursday, July 20, 2006. 50 albums that changed music. Click on over to The Observer. To see their list of 50 albums that changed music. I have a decidedly biased view of such things so the first thing I look for are the albums I know and love and, sure enough, there are many that I don't know. That might make the list suspect but I don't know enough about The Velvet Underground and Nico. To say that they messed up by putting it at #1 and Sgt Pepper. I should make a list of 10 albums that changed me.

http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 27, 2010. Peter Gabriel's Scratch My Back. Music is pretty important to me. I have it on most of the time and I listen pretty intently quite often. Every once in a while an album comes along that just stops me in my tracks. The latest one to do that – and the first one in a while – is Peter Gabriel’s gorgeous Scratch My Back. Is a covers album but it is unlike any other covers album I’ve ever come across. Was “no cymbals.”. The rule for Scratch My Back. Elbow’s “MirrorballR...Gabriel&#...

Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Disaster Camping - crash course #1. We attempted to go camping this past weekend. Attempted being the key word. It was HOT for us in the Pacific NW this weekend, mid 90’s, and luckily the heat was the least of our worries. We get to the campsite about 7-7:30pm and it’s a ‘park wherever’ sort of place. We get one of the last spaces open, on a slope, but whatever. In the bag, so we jimmy-rigged that for ours. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant set up and I decided early on that.

Monday, August 18, 2014. So I am back from the 7 month hiatus better know as life. Here is our time in pictures. Getting ready for Rock the Cradle. Otto loves naptime :-). A boy and his cat. Brandt and I signed up to run a St. Patrick's Day 5K. The other two couple bailed at the last minute so Brandt and I did it on our own. It was below freezing that day and not a ton of fun. We were so glad to be done! Otto hanging with his bestie Reid. Otto likes to tackle and snuggle his giant alligator. Another visi...
