It had been awhile since I made this. I do recall it did take a long time for the mixture to thicken—and you had to stir constantly. I must have stirred at least three hours… long enough to pull up a chair. (I wondered whether I could stir and write? The dough was rather tricky. Because it was kind of sticky.
