http://www.candidkerala.com/2013/01/the-rapist.html
Saturday, January 5, 2013. Shankaran Nair waited sipping not-so-fermented Kallu (palm toddy) and biting mango pickle at times. Soon the others will join to pick up on a piece of news that they saw in the news papers today. Govt considers chemical castration for rapists". Kuttappan had stocked up more Kallu. At around 7pm other folks joined. Every one ordered their bottles and the starters. While waiting for it Shankaran Nair put the subject of discussion on the table for which Thaniyan responded. The que...

The Way I See It: The Cyber Communist

Saturday, December 11, 2010. Thaniyan sat there in the bench at Kuttappan's Kallu shop thinking deeply. Looking at the news paper once in a while, then looking down, at times looking up at the roof. Something was disturbing him. He ordered a bottle of Kallu. After downing two glasses , his mouth was open. He was open. Some one asked from behind. He passed the news paper to the person behind the question. He read it aloud. So is this arrest really for what is charged? One by one everybody joined the laugh...

Monday, July 13, 2009. Kerala could be the only place in India that kept its traditional medicine called Ayurveda through the British rule in Colonial India. The British denounced Ayurveda calling it a primitive treatment and did not encourage physicians who practiced it. That's one of the reasons why Ayurveda disappeared from India and people started switching to the new allopathic treatment, which showed immediate results. In 1902, which i. S the main hub of Ayurveda in India today. There are some doct...

Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Like any other state in India, politically triggered communal violence are also not uncommon here. The fight between the ruling and opposition parties hampers the growth of the state. Apart from this Kerala is a wonderful place to live in. All that you will ever want is available there except for the occasional power supply failures. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Way I See It: The ban on Gods Own Booze
http://www.candidkerala.com/2014/09/gods-own-booze.html
Friday, September 19, 2014. The ban on Gods Own Booze. Kerala Govt’s ban on booze is like draining rivers and lakes to stop people from drowning. Unadulterated stupidity. It appears as if booze was handed over to us by God, but I can only confirm that it was there when my Grandma’s father was born. When our Govt tried to kill a tradition as old as history could track, they should have at least consulted the same history books or sought help from people who drank and knew their drinks.
