Stupid site i need to update/demolish. Currently Obsessed With. - 5urly m3rma1d. 16 November 2007 @ 05:27 pm. Here's a 2.5-in. miniature noID from Lowe's I've had for about a year. Took this pic last week when it bloomed up all purdy for me. This fucker started it all, and now along with a couple Lowe's noIDs, I have like 30 named minis and see myself stopping no time soon. Yay for flowers indoors. I'm having even more fun with these than the mini roses I was keeping. (OMG did I admit that!

I've repotted my little african violets. I put the main one back into the same pot with refreshed soil. I set that one into a pretty ceramic planter. I potted up the sucker into a smaller pot. I had bought two planters but the little one is a bit too short to fit in it. Hopefully they will do well. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I'll keep you posted and post a picture when the big one blooms again. Hopefully the little one will follow suit. It's about a year old now. :). Post a new comment.

Debicka Wild Woman (. I'm new to Arican Violets love but where is the blue love people? Is it just me or is it just impossilbe to fine blue african violets anywhere? I've been to nursery after nursery hunting for a miniature in blue and cannot seem to find one anywhere. I think I'm just going to have to give in and buy a baby off Ebay. New to this community. I've just recently bloomed ( no pun intended) my obsession with african violets, i dont know what it is, but there is definitely something about them, that is ADDICTING! But I want to know what works for everyone else. I'm such a virgin when it comes to artificial light. Oh biggest question. How far away do the lights need to be from the plants? Hi, new here! Still learning how to take care of these plants. The first plant I got was in April/May, and it flowered for about two months. These days it looks like this, reaching up:. With the center all tight and bunching, and not much new growth in the last month:. I did buy an African violet mix (miracle grow, w/adjusted pH), which I plan on mixing with perlite to lighten it up, before re-potting. (I read 50% perlite or vermiculite can be good for them) This will fertilize it for awhile too.
