Take me to...: China Update
http://hhdyu.blogspot.com/2008/07/china-update.html
Tuesday, July 01, 2008. I'm pretty much settled here. I usually go to bed by midnight and then wake up around 6:30 am I like to end and start my day in prayer and time in the Word. My roommates are early sleepers (like at 9 pm! And early risers (like 5 am! So the room is very quiet when I go to bed and wake up. Who in their RIGHT MIND sleeps and wakes up that early? Maybe it's normal for a Chinese laptop.) Maybe it's too hot and needs to cool down? I hope I didn't crash that one, too!

Take me to...: June 2008

Friday, June 27, 2008. She looked very capable and probably could've fixed it if I left it there, but the place wasn't an authentic Apple Store or an authentic service center and I just felt better not doing anything. Btw, Macs aren't very popular here in China. I hear it's b/c it's too expensive, and it's harder to BOOTLEG. :). So I guess I'm laptop-less in China. :) Nonetheless, it was a good day hanging out w/ Jessie and Heesung in the Haidian District. Links to this post. Hannah is jetlagged in China!

Take me to...: Survival Tip #831 - Room Makeover in China
http://hhdyu.blogspot.com/2008/07/survival-tip-831-room-makeover-in-china.html
Thursday, July 10, 2008. Survival Tip #831 - Room Makeover in China. In China, dormitories/hotel rooms usually have poor lighting. If I'm going to be staying at a place for awhile (like 7 weeks this time around), I like to. Change out the lightbulbs. I know it kinda sounds crazy to do, but it's fairly cheap and easy to do. Now our room has a warm, homey, happy *glow* to it. *bling* :) And it's become a great place to read, study and hangout in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 北京歡迎妳 BEIJING HUAN YING ...

Take me to...: Survival Tip #382 - Going Digital
http://hhdyu.blogspot.com/2008/07/survival-tip-382-going-digital.html
Tuesday, July 08, 2008. Survival Tip #382 - Going Digital. A digital camera comes in real handy when I can't read Chinese. I'll take pictures of stores, street signs, food dishes, etc. Things I want to refer back to. That way when I'm in a taxi and don't know how to say, "Please take me to the Sunshine Market.", I can show them the picture on my digital camera! Qing dai wo chu. Sunshine Market! And look at the pic on my digital camera, buddy.). Kentucky Fried Chicken - Kun te ji. McDonald's - Ma dan lo.

http://hhdyu.blogspot.com/2008/07/yep-its-true-china-and-man-made-rain.html
Monday, July 07, 2008. Yep, it's true. China and "man-made" rain. Sometimes at night, I can hear the loud boom of the guns in the distance. China is seeding the clouds in the Beijing area so to clear the air and to keep the rain away during the Olympics. Ain't it a funny how we can manipulate the weather like that? Almost like playing God. Kinda weird and scary. Http:/ www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/olympics/article4228189.ece. June 28, 2008. China's guns are out for Olympic rainclouds.
