Back in July, over the holiday weekend, I set out to tackle a few projects in my guest bathroom. Although, I did not have funds to replace the counter top and faucet, I did as much as I could to transform the space. Here are a few before and after photos. One of my favorite things about owning my own home is doing projects, decorating and making it better. This weekend I tackled one project that I have been looking forward too. Since Karl moved out, I decided to turn his room into the "Big Kids Room." {Yes, I have two kids rooms and no children. So nieces and nephews you are all invited for a sleepover! I just finished my little kids room. It has been an ongoing project for several weeks. I had a vision of artwork I wanted to adorn the walls with. I saw so many cute pieces in the stores but could not bring myself to spend the money on something I could do myself. I tried to keep the space neutral so it would be inviting to all children. Here is the room with it's lovely brown walls before I added a splash of color. (Nothing against the color just tired of seeing it on EVERY wall of my house.).

I am so excited to have completed my built in spice rack. For years I have dreamed about opening the cabinet/pantry door and seeing my spices all lined up. We'll, it is now a reality! A special thanks to my sister, Steph, who came over to help me get the ball rolling. She helped me figure out the dimensions and what type of wood I would need. then we went to Home Depot, bought the wood and extra tools required to complete the project. You can tell it is packed and I am in need of a little more storage.

Pantry with a POW! I have been blog hopping and was inspired by DIY bloggers painting doors or adding a splash of color to their environments. So this weekend I decided to add a POW! First I choose a color . . . I decided to go with a shade of orange creamsicle. The Pantry was emptied . . . I could not believe how much I had packed in there! I love to bake and have several different types of flour and sugar . . . wow! After two coats of Tangerine orange paint I had this, POW! Now that is a pop of color!

Here is what it looked like when I purchased the home in April. New appliances made a huge difference! I painted the walls Pottery Barn's Santorini Blue. I am still adding decorative touches and trying to decide what to do with the cabinets. White? Just can't decide. I am hoping to change out the counter tops and a new sink and fixtures in the future. PS: Thank you to my sister Steph and her son Parker. I appreciated your help getting it all painted. That did make a huge difference! I forgot the word tell.
