An Apple Mac OS X User: October 2007
http://macosxuser.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
An Apple Mac OS X User. I will document everything of interest I do on my Xserver, iMac, MacBook, MacMini here. Wednesday, 31 October 2007. Coverflow for every folder! With Leopard viewing any folder takes on the last view option - unlike Tiger where each folder keeps it own view setting. So if you chose the coverflow view for one folder, every folder has that view! You can make specific folder keep its own view setting:. Tuesday, 30 October 2007. I've just managed to upgrade to Leopard (10.5)! DOCTYPE p...
An Apple Mac OS X User: February 2008
http://macosxuser.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
An Apple Mac OS X User. I will document everything of interest I do on my Xserver, iMac, MacBook, MacMini here. Thursday, 7 February 2008. Windows XP drivers on MacBook Pro. So I used Bootcamp in Leopard to install Windows XP. read the documents on the web about drivers and stuff but could find them. so during a search for 'right-click'-ing on the trackpad of the MacBook, someone pointed out that the drivers are on the Leopard install disk! These two items worked before the drivers started installing - a...
An Apple Mac OS X User: September 2007

An Apple Mac OS X User. I will document everything of interest I do on my Xserver, iMac, MacBook, MacMini here. Monday, 10 September 2007. Dillo is rubbish really. So I've been trying to get Mozilla to work under Fink - but unfortunately it is not available for MacIntel! Wednesday, 5 September 2007. Do you need to run free software like on Linux or Unix? Instead of compiling them all by yourself, use Fink to do this automatically and better: http:/ finkproject.org/. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
An Apple Mac OS X User: A Working Wordpress-mu!!
http://macosxuser.blogspot.com/2008/03/working-wordpress-mu.html
An Apple Mac OS X User. I will document everything of interest I do on my Xserver, iMac, MacBook, MacMini here. Tuesday, 4 March 2008. I finally got Wordpress-mu working on my Mac OS X server! The problem is, it is running on Mac OS X Tiger - not Leopard! I had lots of problems getting (v1.3.3) working on Leopard - the Apache server kept on crashing! I eventually gave up, like everything I've tried to get working on Leopard server, it simply does not work! 9 June 2008 at 16:50. 9 June 2008 at 18:27.
An Apple Mac OS X User: Xserve Leopard Server Upgrade
http://macosxuser.blogspot.com/2007/11/xserve.html
An Apple Mac OS X User. I will document everything of interest I do on my Xserver, iMac, MacBook, MacMini here. Tuesday, 20 November 2007. Xserve Leopard Server Upgrade. I've been working on the Apple Xserve for a while now but haven't posted anything here (not that anyone is reading this ;) because I have been waiting for a copy of the Leopard update to install on it. The one marked 'solved' is the one I followed even though it was for older version of OX Server. Mirroring of the 'system' disk on the Xs...

Random rantings: Glasses update
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/10/glasses-update.html
Thursday, October 16, 2008. So, I went to order said glasses today. As I was being measured for the new top-of-the-line-you-really-must-have-these lenses, the woman behind the counter was tallying up my bill. That's 1158 in total, she said. Umm, I said, I was told 849 yesterday. Oh, that's without the frames at 309 was the reply. I asked the woman doing the measuring to stop as there's no way that either my wife would approve 1150 for glasses, or that I would pay 1150 for glasses. Follow me on Twitter.
Random rantings: Work shmirk...
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/12/work-shmirk.html
Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Well, joining the ranks of the unemployed was not that bad. I'd rather not be 'between positions' but oh well. Shit happens right? I've been doing some freelance work for a new client. It's been fun but being a freelance Mac consultant will never make one fat and happy. Happy maybe but there's not enough work with the few clients I have to keep my fat. Ok, certainly as fat as I am but no more than that. What else is new? Not much really so I'll see you later.
Random rantings: General stuff for today
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/10/general-stuff-for-today.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. General stuff for today. My bad back is back - with a vengeance. It got worse again on Friday, this time only my right side, and continued on until on Sunday afternoon I was walking with a limp (limp what you might ask? And my right leg was going numb. Got no sleep Sunday night, lots of drugs and came to work late. I'm trying to get in to see someone, massage, chiropractor, anyone to no avail. I'm seeing my Doctor this afternoon though. So we'll see what happens. My favourite si...
Random rantings: End of office saga
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2009/02/end-of-office-saga.html
Monday, February 02, 2009. End of office saga. So, it's finally done. After almost three years elapsed time, thousands of dollars, hours and hours of work and even more hours of planning, it's finished. It looks great. I'm all moved in, working from there right now, it's warm, but not too warm (thanks to the three Mac's) and is nice and quiet (apart from the aforementioned Mac's). Back to tech stuff. Random rantings: My own business
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-own-business.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Is all I have to say. I don't know if it's me or the economy but the business has not taken off at all. It's as slow as molasses in the winter. So I'm back to trying to find a real job. I'm still trying to do my own thing but I have lots of time to find real employment. I had a birthday a little while ago too. Ho hum. Started using Twitter, get me here. That's all for now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Some Mac stuff I like. Some things I like.
Random rantings: Glasses
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/10/glasses.html
Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Went for an eye test today. I did this for a number of reasons. Firstly, my currently glasses are getting scratched, or are already scratched to be more precise. Secondly, I've noticed that my vision is getting worse, particularly without glasses. And finally, due to my leaving this company, I want to make the most of my benefits before I leave. After the test, I took a look for new glasses, and found some. I have a wide head (must be to contain all the brains? Glasses who's ...
Random rantings: Ongoing office build saga
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2009/01/ongoing-office-build-saga.html
Sunday, January 25, 2009. Ongoing office build saga. Firstly, apologies. I'm sure no one is interested in this, but this is a blog after all, so I just write crap in here that I'm working on. So we decided back on tile. I did some research on installing a tile floor and while it didn't sound that difficult, it made me realise just how final putting tile down is. If you mess up one tile or one cracks, you just can't get it up again. So we decided to go with hardwood instead. Follow me on Twitter.
Random rantings: So...
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2009/01/so.html
Tuesday, January 13, 2009. My Father-in-law went home the other day. . The office is looking good. Many thanks to him for helping. We have the drywall up and one coat of 'mud' on. I've had a drywaller come in and finish it off, so as of today, the subfloor is done, the wiring is all done, the window is in, the door is in and it's ready for paint, slate floor and desks. Then we can move in! I'd like a logo for my freelance thing. Thinking of a caricature. I'd have to have one made though as I have...
Random rantings: Post-op
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/11/post-op.html
Sunday, November 16, 2008. Well, I had some guy-surgery the other day. 90 minutes of surgery, 3 hours of post-op recovery, a lifetime of getting used to the difference. Not comfortable telling the whole world what I had done, but the recovery is painful and uncomfortable. Fine if I'm hanging around home in a robe, but when I have to wear clothes, umm, not so much. Anyway, as the Urologist said, hurts for a while, but not forever, right? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter.
Random rantings: RAW
http://davidbailie.blogspot.com/2008/10/raw.html
Thursday, October 16, 2008. So, people 'in the know' have told me that once I started taking digital pictures in the RAW format, that I would love it. Last weekend I decided to give it a try and yes, they were right, I loved the results. To my Mac.com gallery containing the RAW images. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter.
