Spradically Vista would not recognize the device and report that it was an unknown USB device. At other times the device drivers would load but ActiveSync and Mobile Device Center could not connect. (Keep It Simple Stupid) moments. It was one of those times when I was making something much more difficult than it needed to be. I wanted to pull a GUID from a textbox and pass it into a method. The problem was that the value coming out of the textbox was a string and the method expected a Guid. Here is an example:.
