Erica in Malawi: April 2008
http://ericagoesmalawi.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 13, 2008. We have recently received our placements for the summer. I will be working in a rural area just outside of Blantyre, Malawi on the Malawi Freshwater Project. My project involves working directly with a local field officer on monthly project planning, implementation, and reporting. I expect that there will be a knowledge and skills exchange through which we will learn from one another. Luckily, they build boreholes and my Geology class. I'm sure to study extra hard for that exam now.

The only people left were the close family w...

Saturday, September 20, 2008. Another week of Malawi. Another friendly update. Written: May 24,2008. Moni (greetings in Chichewa),. I’ve spent only 2 weeks in Malawi and am already feeling comfortable in my surroundings. I’m slowly learning Chichewa, with many mistakes and laughter along the way, my stomach is getting used to the food and water, and I am feeling more and more comfortable with my host mother and my coworkers. I’ve been getting some requests for some Chichewa lessons, so here it goes:.
