I put a quarter inch black trim around the French newsprint. I think it has brightened up the quilt top considerably. I also like the black polka-dotted border which pretty neatly ties the whole thing together. The back is well on its way too so I am hoping to finish soon! French Circles top is done! I picked up the awesome elephant fabric at an estate sale last weekend. The elephants are felted. I made it reversible with a teal and brown plaid on the inside and a contrasting pocket. This week I managed to get a table cloth quilted. The top was made by my sister and I used an old tablecloth I got from Goodwill for a couple bucks on the back. No batting was used. We had a great time running around the suburbs on a shop hop, which included an Ugly Sweater contest. She tried to get me to participate, but alas, I couldn’t find an appropriate outfit. She, on the other hand, was spectacular! She actually won a gift certificate at one of the stores for her get-up! Kathy and her Ugly Christmas Sweater.
