I'm completely spent tonight. more so than usual, and I'm not sure why. I went to Trader Joe's this morning. Then I got The Boy to take a short nap and we had lunch. Then I took him into Boston on the T for the first time. All in all it was an A day with my family. Posted by Margaret at 10:01 PM. Wednesday, July 07, 2004. Tee hee. my husband is so funny&#...

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Friday, January 15, 2010. The school horses spend most of the morning out in the pasture, so it's not like they're standing in it while they wait for the stall cleaners to get to them. They're fat, well shod and clearly loved, healthy animals. But the smell on my hands and clothes when I get in my car is substantial. Posted by Margaret at 8:09 PM. The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Tuesday, May 04, 2010. A brief explanation of my current Connemara obsession. A" shows and blue ribbons were far from our minds. We were just horse crazy and loved to be around horses and to ride under any circumstances. In short, that year was heaven. Or "I call Alex! That was the last year that I got to PLAY like that before boobs and boys and other things complicated our lives. Posted by Margaret at 7:51 PM. Somerville, Massachusetts, U...

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Thursday, May 27, 2004. The Boy went to sleep last night in his crib around 8:30. I gave him some ibuprofin in the afternoon after much cranking and the difference was amazing. I got my cheery little guy back! You may get that love, but you won't be worthy of it. Will I be the one to destroy that innocence? God I hope not. Posted by Margaret at 9:45 AM. Tuesday, May 25, 2004. It's on AMC and we have it on in the background. The thing t...

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Saturday, July 17, 2004. Thursday night, something kind of snapped in me. Eric's waking up to nurse every couple hours and I just can't take it any more. So, about five Thursday morning, I drew the line and said no more nursing until the morning. He cried and thrashed for an hour and I rubbed his back and told him it was OK, and he fell asleep until 8. Posted by Margaret at 8:40 PM. Somerville, Massachusetts, United States.

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Saturday, January 30, 2010. The Agony of The Feet. It's all about feet. A lot has changed in the horse world in the last 12 years. This isn't surprising. I think of the conflicting pregnancy advice I got with two pregnancies 18 months apart and well, experts on just about everything change their minds a LOT. Sorry, rambling there. The other thing that's changed is everybody has zippers in their boots now! Posted by Margaret at 10:01 AM.

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. I came to the Patriots Party late in life. Here we are before the game:. And now I get to experience the end of season let down. No more Patriots football? Y kind of awesome. And I hope next time Tom Brady walks into that ...

The Son Always Rises, but the Daughter Sleeps In: A tale of OPB*. Saturday, May 01, 2010. Horse Hunters (But not Hunter Horses). I sold my last horse in 1998 in the Spring. It was like a great weight had been lifted off of me emotionally and financially. On a side note, I came across him about a year ago. He is 20 now (how did that happen! Surely this is unnecessary? But I digress). I have my own 17.5" 18 year old hard-as-a-rock Crosby Hunterdon that I love and it fits most horses quite well. The Steady ...
