Friday, August 26, 2011. I am off to Christchurch today! Per my mother's request I am only spending two nights there before taking the Trans Alpine Train across to Greymouth on the west coast. So this is two things off of my wish list in my last post, booked and going to happen! I have spent yesterday and today catching up with Guillaume, Celia and Martin from Taupo as they just came up to Auckland. :). Though, as per usual, i am sick. I will keep you posted! Tuesday, April 12, 2011. I am in Paihia. Bay of Island area. Finally got off of the Barrier about a week and a half ago. It is nice here though. Kind of touristy, but quite beautiful. Sunday, May 1, 2011. I finally got up and moving. After a lovely Easter weekend in Auckland, I adopted two German girls, Sandra and Annika, that I met i Paihia and set off traveling with them. We went to the Coromandel Peninsula. We spent Tuesday night in Thames. Then Wednesday we go up and hit the road. We then continued north up the west coast of the peninsula to Coromandel town. Friday, January 28, 2011. I just bought a $3 can of sprite. I am back home on the barrier. It was bad for a while. I lost my luggage. My best friend got kidnapped. We had a cyclone. But all is good now. And the cyclone was actually quite fun. And now the sun is back and Barrier life is sweet. I have taken to assisting on the island radio station and may wet my own show? George is coming to visit soon! And i am so excited. Sorry thats all for now. I am in the middle of a radio show and internet is rare.

Monday, May 10, 2010. Tabasco: Ruta de Cacao. The expression that: “No es el cacao sino el chocolate tiene su origen en Méco” (Not cacao, but rather chocolate originated from Mexico). Cacao forms part of Mexico’s, but in particular Tabasco’s, historical, cultural and social identity. The challenge ahead is to maintain it as such. Cacao criollo (the cacao pod). Cutting the cacao pods from the trees. An open cacao pod with seeds inside. The cacao seeds are covered in a white pulp. Cacao seeds being dried.
