Thoughts on Eating Dirt, Playing with Nature, and Pounding Pavement (Once in Awhile). Saturday, September 10, 2011. Woodstock: Lessons Learned From a 50K in Hell. I'm not a fan of desperation. I got a firm slap on the wrist this weekend reminding me why. But not strong enough. And then I rationalized that since I had recovered more quickly than usual from Burning River (in terms of soreness), I must not have used too much up in the legs, and if I could get my head around another 100, I would be okay.

I run 10 or more miles in a day quite regularly, even on reduced mileage; however, the legs were already quite tired just from the jump from 50 weekly miles to 80, plus the return of twice daily workouts.
