One of the major projects they worked on all week was this house. Starting with a plain wooden box, Madelyn used all kinds of recycled materials and art supplies to create furniture, appliances, a treasure chest full of jewels, window treatments, a garden.it is pretty awesome! Born in her home December 14, 2006. Thursday, July 4, 2013. Big Fourth of July Day. Our day began with a red, white, and blue breakfast! Then we participated in the neighborhood parade, and this time we weren't dragging dead last like last year. When I was about to have that baby! Everywhere we bring Loki and Kezia, they get a lot of attention from kids and adults alike. After the parade, Gary and Madelyn read the Declaration of Independence together and discussed what it means to live in a free country.

Gary and I are poignantly aware that our life and our family will never be the same after Little Brother is born. Of course we have much to celebrate in adding to our family, but we also mourn "just the three of us" which will never be again. This was just a little getaway to Sunriver, and we invited another family to join us for the five days. At least she can entertain herself!

Saturday, August 1, 2009. I still have not yet actually heard from Jereme, but I guess no news is good news. Before he left he wrote me some emails, and he has them set to send to me various times while he is gone. I didn't know this until. The first email was the day he left, an I love you and a goodbye. Today I got one as well, reminding me he loves me, and that he will be thinking about me and we will see each other soon. Seeing as how I was having a hard day today, it was perfect timing.

Tuesday, August 4, 2009. How do I know he is Handsome without seeing him, I just know! Today he got his uniforms and gear and all that jazz. He had to wear his boots all day and he said his feet are a bit sore, but no blisters so far. I got to talk to him for nearly an hour tonight! It was so great!
