They are not really black, but their iridescent body and wing feathers are set off by a rusty brown back. Flocks of over 300 would gather in fields and pastures.

Right now there is a great variety of colors with them. Some of them were almost blue, but probably fall under the slate colored.

We started the day on the patio of our rental cabin, and enjoyed a nice variety of birds before we left the property, including Steller’s Jays that were foraging on and around some of the unoccupied cabins nearby. Sunday, April 8, 2007. How was everyone's easter? Mine was good. I woke up at 6:30 to Jade yelling "I found 15 eggs! Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Last, Wenesday Erika, Katelyn, Janelle and Me walked to Augustas to get frappes. Then we walked to the Vining, and at the Vining Janelle took some pictures of us and made two movies, one of Erika and I and the other of me. I don't have any of the videos yet, but I will soon! Here are the pictures. This one is my favorite! I love Katelyn's face! It is really fun ;)!
