Since 1994, the mil rate (tax dollars paid per $1,000 assessed valuation) has decreased by 35%. School property taxes are a significantly smaller portion of the total property tax bill than in 1994. Since 2004, state equalization aid has increased 9%, while the rate of inflation has increased 25% (see last chart).
