Memoirs of a Mad Poet. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Lost in Macy’s. I was only four or so when Mom (Aldine Marie Busch) took me with her to do some shopping at Macy’s. I do not remember how I got separated from her, but I did. I do remember the terror of being alone, wandering around among all the adults, trying to find my Mom. Memoirs of a Mad Poet. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. When we lived on Carlton Way (Between Gower and Bronson - 1 block south of Hollywood Blvd.), which was quite awhile, we didn't have a car. Of course, we didn't have a car in Kansas City either, but then it didn't take two hours to get somewhere on a bus, cabs were a LOT cheaper, and we had life long friends. Which made for a lot of boredom (in Hollywood? But at the time, it did. People probably don't even know what these are today! Posted by evvy garrett.

Memoirs of a Mad Poet. Monday, March 23, 2009. One night, I was dancing a fast dance with someone at the Holiday Inn, and Disco Duck cut in! Now I mean the real Disco Duck, in full costume! So there I was, on the dance floor dancing with a duck! We did talk a little as we danced, and he claimed to be the 'real' Disco Duck. After the dance, The Duck escorted me back to my table and headed for the bar, where he drew quite a crowd. He stayed about an hour, then left. It was fun to say the least.

At any rate, since I don't have a lap top, and MY hospital, Scripps. Mercy Hospital does NOT have a library with computers for patients use, I've been rather isolated. Right after that, she called me about something; did I want this or that? Well her cell went out. Think I only have one more in three weeks in this round before scans. On Wednesday, October 22 at 1:30 in the afternoon, I gladly arrived home from spending 5 days in the hospital. The absolute first thing I did was ‘open up’ the apartment, including letting the Sisters out. Though they had had a ‘caretaker’, they had not been outside for 5 days. A Classy Old Lady - Blogging Since 2004! Sunday, November 30, 2008. 2ND Round of Chemo. Was this last week, and although there were some problems (likely not chemo related), it definitely is going better than the first. The dosage was reduced, and I only went two days instead of three. So on Monday I had Carboplatin and Etoposide (VP-16), and on Wed I just had the VS -16. (Well, on both days I had the ‘pre-meds’, decadron, zofran, etc.). Saccharine that I used in my coffee and had not had for 20 yrs?
