Madtown Mama: March 2015
http://madtownmama.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Balancing life as a freelance musician and mom of two in Madison, WI. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Tuesday Night Fun Cooking! This week is spring break for students at UW and in the Madison schools. Not me, alas. My teaching schedule continues as usual this week and I still have music to practice and a meeting and rehearsal tomorrow. What I really need is a whole week free of these kinds of obligations so I can catch up on all the things I've fallen behind on and recharge my creative batteries. Today we made...
Madtown Mama: September 2014
http://madtownmama.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Balancing life as a freelance musician and mom of two in Madison, WI. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Sad, bedraggled tomatoes. Since my straw bale garden was at least partially successful, I've been thinking about how to expand that garden space out back. The soil has got to be terrible, full of weeds and tree roots and spruce cones. There is no point in digging down and trying to amend, so I want to build up. But how? Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Love people. cook them good food. We all have to eat every...
Madtown Mama: Tuesday Night Fun Cooking! (on Wednesday): bagels and stuff
http://madtownmama.blogspot.com/2015/07/tuesday-night-fun-cooking-on-wednesday_15.html
Balancing life as a freelance musician and mom of two in Madison, WI. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Tuesday Night Fun Cooking! On Wednesday): bagels and stuff. If you love locally grown food, July is the best time to be in southern Wisconsin. Everything is so abundant and delicious (except in my own garden, but my personal gardening issues are a topic for another post). I'm happy to feast on cucumbers and kale and beet salad any and every night. We mixed up the bagel dough early in the afternoon:. Then you g...
Madtown Mama: random on Friday
http://madtownmama.blogspot.com/2015/08/random-on-friday.html
Balancing life as a freelance musician and mom of two in Madison, WI. Friday, August 07, 2015. Post, I'm afraid, but here are a few pictures:. They'll knock down walls, pull out our 64-year-old metal cabinetry, carefully remove our asbestos-laden kitchen floor (yes, sigh) and start installing all the new stuff. Just thinking about dealing with all that plus my variable work schedule and schlepping the kids around has me on the verge of a panic attack. 7 I'm feeling a little homesick these days. And Eliza...
Madtown Mama: Tagged Again!
http://madtownmama.blogspot.com/2007/01/tagged-again.html
Balancing life as a freelance musician and mom of two in Madison, WI. Monday, January 01, 2007. Me for this a while ago, and now I'm finally doing it. I have to say this is the most unusual tag I've ever gotten. 1 Find the nearest book. 2 Name the book and the author. 3 Turn to page 123. 4 Go to the fifth sentence on the page. Copy out the next three sentences and post to your blog. 5 Tag three more folks. Ought to tell you why this book didn't exactly work for me. From page 123, sentences 5, 6 and 7:.

Vana Jezebel: Time Stamps
http://vanajezebel.blogspot.com/2014/11/time-stamps.html
Saturday, November 08, 2014. Hmm I have a sneaking suspicion that my Blogger settings locate me in California since it's 2:33 am and my last post is stamped at 11:32 pm This is the sort of thing that reminds me I actually lived in California for a while. The same is true of my Pandora radio account, which still plays ads from the Bay area. I will have to figure out how to change that. I guess. And, I just fixed it. Woo hoo. :). Slipping Reality: February 2009
http://slippingreality.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Everyone's already got one, you see? Wednesday, February 18, 2009. This morning, I took my 12 year old cat Zeke to the vet. Unfortunately, Zeke did not come home with me. He's been in gradual decline since Thanksgiving, which accelerated over the past two weeks. Xrays this morning showed he had cancer through most of his major organs with nothing we could do. The vet kindly talked me through the euthanasia procedure and I was present when it was done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Stinkbumps the Wonder Boy.
Slipping Reality: June 2009
http://slippingreality.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Everyone's already got one, you see? Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Joke from a Four Year Old and Phonics Lesson. It's Pizza, who? That was a funny joke! Earlier this week, Christopher and I were discussing letter sounds. He asked me what I started with (what letter my name begins with, in his parlance). I told him, "My name starts with the letter 'B'.". He looked puzzled. "But 'Mommy' has a ' mmmmmm. Mommy has an ' mmmm. Sound, but my name is Becca.". You start with the 'butt' sound.". Slipping Reality: July 2009
http://slippingreality.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Everyone's already got one, you see? Wednesday, July 29, 2009. I was pondering this last night, and was spurred to post after reading Suze's blog this morning. I need a bit of advice- both on how I should perceive reality and what actions I should take. Possibly. Allow me to 'splain:. Here's where the help comes in:. 1) Do I gush too much about his seeming talent for music, or is this normal for 4 1/2? 3) At what point do I consider lessons? I never had music lessons, so I don't know how early is too ear...
Pop Goes the Weasel: Ben's Activities
http://clairemarcben.blogspot.com/2008/10/bens-activities.html
Pop Goes the Weasel. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. I thought it would be fun to record some of the things Ben has been doing these days. Often, they are QUITE comical, leaving both Marc and I in tears since he makes us laugh so hard. 1 Hiding things: We are discovering little treasures all over the house that we're pretty sure the other didn't put there. For example, finding tractors, trucks and fire engines lined in a kitchen drawer. I found a nice wad of dried play-doh and a chunk of old (OLD! 4 One of ...
Cranial Flatulence: June 2006
http://scottrharding.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
These are the random things that pop into my head. Read them. Get all riled up. Post your comments. Come to your own conclusions. THINK. Thursday, June 22, 2006. I compare these doors to today's common hollow-core "privacy" doors. The kind that, if Jack Nicholson needed to get through them, he wouldn't even need an axe; he'd just punch his fist through and announce "Here's Johnny! Cranial Flatulence: November 2006
http://scottrharding.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
These are the random things that pop into my head. Read them. Get all riled up. Post your comments. Come to your own conclusions. THINK. Saturday, November 18, 2006. I had a spine-tingling revelation tonight on my walk back from the video store. It was the kind of giant, monster thought that sometimes pounces on your head, usually when you're least expecting it. I find when that happens I'm best off to simply go with the mental flow, and see where it takes me. You LOVED that rush of activity, of coming d...
Cranial Flatulence: October 2006
http://scottrharding.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
These are the random things that pop into my head. Read them. Get all riled up. Post your comments. Come to your own conclusions. THINK. Monday, October 23, 2006. Two incidents of relatively minimal importance happened at our house this past weekend. Taken separately, each occurrence would be a shrug-off, "one of those things" that makes you just shake your head, roll your eyes, and move on. Together, though, their message becomes multiplicative.and therefore bloggable. The second incident, the one that ...
