The barn is on five different levels and used to be the cowshed, two haylofts, granary and a stable for the two horses. In 2004 we decided to convert these into accommodation and wherever possible have kept the original features but incorporated modern appliances. The barn offers a large oak floor lounge with views towards Snowdonia. Leading outside from the kitchen there is a patio with table and chairs. There is ample room for eight persons, and a large area for parking.

A King size bedroom and two twin accommodates six persons on the first floor. All bed linen is included. A cot can be provided but not with linen. A spacious bathroom overlooks the garden. There is ample space for parking and areas for BBQ. Storage for bikes and outside washing facilities is available.

The land supported cows, hens, sheep and pigs. Shire horses were kept in the stable for work in the forestry during the week and on the land at the weekends. In latter years, the land around the smallholding has not been used and become a haven for wildlife. Today we have a small amount of both sheep and pigs but are nowhere near as self sufficient as our predecessors. Will and Jane came to live at Maesgwm in 1934 and soon got used to the residents a colony of pipistrelle bats that are still here today.

Welcome to Maesgwyn Hall. Maesgwyn Hall is situated within its own grounds and gardens just on the Mold Road opposite the Glyndwr University, Wrexham, North Wales. At Maesgwyn we can cater for any event from that small meeting to funeral teas and large parties.
