Ceramics

Here is a selection from a range of my different series of ceramic vessels. They are handbuilt using mainly stoneware clays such as craft crank or a grogged white raku body and occasionally a grogged red earthenware. The vessels are intended as non-functional craft pieces for interior or exterior display. Given the nature of highly fired clay, the stoneware vessels are more appropriate for situating outdoors and will withstand frost.

These images are a selection from a wide range of drawings from the human form, landscape and seascape. The life drawings ranging from A1 to A3 studies of both female and male models. I use mainly charcoal, conte crayon, pastels and watercolour on white cartridge paper. I also experiment with different grounds such as drawing on newsprint, cardboard and tinted papers. Other drawings in black and white or colour are made as preparatory studies towards oil or acrylic paintings.

Land and Seascape Oil Paintings. This is a selection of my paintings from different viewpoints of land and seascape. I work mainly in oils but also experiment with acrylic and mixed media. I am inspired by the forces of nature and aim to capture the elemental beauty of say, a pool with vegetation, a path in the autumn downland or the shadows of a growing night cloud across a landscape. I work to commissions but recommend that you come and view the work to explore images you find interesting.

Introduction to the work
Introduction to my artwork. I am a painter and a sculptor. I work in a range of media appropriate to the images that have inspired the piece or pieces I make. The website is broken into different sections called galleries or pages. The pages consist of the different work I make in 2D and 3D. Each page or section has a different title.
