Maggie Doyle: Poet

Wednesday, 9 July 2014. I've found my blog! Wednesday, 14 November 2012. Getting Ready For Christmas. Now I am like my grandchildren and counting "sleeps" until Christmas, so I suppose I had better accept it and admit that all the signs from August onward have got me to this point. Here is a little something to spur others on too. I believe in magic because I am not dead. Last year I got three wishes and this is what I said. I don't want to be a turkey, I'll be a fairy on the tree. October 27th, 2012.

Maggie Doyle: Poet: NaPoWriMo Days 9, 10 and 11

http://www.maggiedoylepoet.blogspot.com/2012/04/napowrimo-days-9-10-and-11.html

Wednesday, 11 April 2012. NaPoWriMo Days 9, 10 and 11. I'm not keeping as up to date as I would like, but I am managing to follow the prompts this year. Anyway, here are my latest offerings:. Day 9 – prompt : Persona Poem. A wedding is announced. I don’t want to complain but it’s always the same,. Me doing all the jobs. They just couldn’t care and it’s really not fair. They’re useless, uncaring, they’re slobs. Oh Daddy dear why don’t you hear. They’re spiteful and I really miss mum. Uprights and the trai...

Maggie Doyle: Poet: NaPoWriMo Day 12

http://www.maggiedoylepoet.blogspot.com/2012/04/napowrimo-day-12.html

Thursday, 12 April 2012. Isn't it great that so many people have joined up to this self discipline? I'd just be lazing around the house, watching daytime tele and wondering whether to have KFC or pizza for dinner - I wish. However, I look forward to opening up the NaPoWriMo site and seeing what the next prompt is, although I have to confess that I am ignoring the one for today, but I have treid to keep the basic theme. I’m not good with foreign languages. I think it’s those guttural sounds.

In his poem Límites, Jorge Luis Borges speaks off Jano as cuadrifronte, that is fourfaced:. Para siempre cerraste alguna puerta. Y hay un espejo que te aguarda en vano,. Mermaids drown: mermaids and water serpents

http://mermaidsdrown.blogspot.com/2011/07/mermaids-and-water-serpents.html

A place to muse about creating things. Monday, 25 July 2011. Mermaids and water serpents. 4 April 2012 at 14:18. 4 April 2012 at 14:21. A place to muse about creating things. Thursday, 15 September 2011. Halah by Mazzy Star. Well I think I see another side. Maybe just another light that shines. And I looked over now through the door. And I still belong to no one else. Maybe I hold you to blame. For all the reasons that you left. And close my eyes till I see your surprise. And you're leavin before my time. Baby won't you change your mind? Surely don't stay long. I'm missing you now. It's like I told you. I'm over you somehow. Gentle, quie...

I see your hair is burning, hills are filled with fire,. If they say I never loved you, you know they are a liar. I love you the best, better than all the rest. She has robes and she has flunkeys. Mermaids drown: December 2013

http://mermaidsdrown.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

A place to muse about creating things. Tuesday, 3 December 2013. On the sixth day of Christmas. I was asked to join in with the Droitwich Arts Network Advent Calendar and it seemed like a great idea. 24 pieces of art are to be displayed throughout Droitwich in various places, like shop windows or the church. I was pleased because the place I had been allocated was a shop called Jewels, which happens to be run by a very dear friend of mine; Laurie Terry. The Droitwich Arts Network. Thank you for visiting my site! After teaching on and off for over ten years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with artist of all ages. On this site you can see lesson plan samples all labeled by their grade levels. Many of these plans have been borrowed or inspired by others but I always try to adapt it to the group I am currently with. I also continue my own growth by creating artwork and commission pieces.
